Apple is not blackmailed, instead Apple itself stressed on Indian manufacturing only for profit and production reliability reasons. I'll quote a sentence from another GSMA article:-

" The major reason Apple is moving away from China and Foxconn diversifying its production across multiple factories are the uncertainties around COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions and the geopolitical tensions between Beijing and Washington. "

Also Import duty is not 100% on phones.

Just an Indian thing. Come to EU countries if you see any Vehicles from your country I'll bare all your expenses. Quality and ruggedness aren't the measurements of safety you troll. And it's way more than that in Europe.
As from my last audit, even your country uses around 80% of European brands for highly rated risk, heavy-duty works, and transportation.

It's a rule for all companies. If you want to access indian market , manufacturer in india otherwise pay 100% import duty ....as simple as that .

Everyone just chill, it takes time to get 100% quality and efficiency in mass manufacturing.

On paper, India practice democracy and capitalism but in reality, a big percentage of Indian wealth and decision making power are held by cronies.

Unnecessary bureaucracy red tapes caused by cronyism means business operators often need to pay bribe for faster processing and approval. These business operators recoup the money lost as bribes by producing cheaper sub-standard products.

India does not understand the concept of meritocracy at this point in time; There are plenty of brilliant Indians, but they can never shine if they are in India. They can only become diamonds if they work in a non-Indian environment because if they are not of the correct caste or have the correct connections they can never be more than a rock.

The locals are too poor to afford what global customers can, and manufacturers actively replace hardware features in indian versions of comparable phones with lower quality ones.
Most people are happy with a "Samsung" phone, and they don't get to compare it with overseas phones. They don't realise that get their GPS signals slower, less accurate. They don't see that their WIFI speeds don't quite match others despite same "technology". There are many small indistinguishable things that one wouldn't notice until they do side by side comparisons.

India'a real GDP is $2.66 trillion, While US is $20.94 trillion, China is $14.72 trillion, Japan is $5.05 trillion, Germany is $3.84 trillion.
Even Japan isn't large enough to be called a "superpower", and it's twice the size of India.
