So You have flagship phones with D9000 but some variants come with D8100/8200.

This Year D9000 and 8+ Gen 1 will be used in this role too.

this is a small beast coming from mediatek. Seems it's gonna rival snapdragon 888 in cpu and gpu tasks.

                    PMKLR3m, 16 Feb 2023Qualcomm is doomed I guess. Outperforming 4 + 4 with 2 + 6.Is pending how strong is 7+ Gen1. Still is not enough since I can't see it matching the Snapdragon 865.
                    But will defeat 7200.

PS: Makes me wonder if Dimensity 7000 or 7100 was planned because releasing it on a very high clock rate (2.8 is already insane even if is a dual core) hints that.

Apple should start to see if they can swap a small core for a big one. It is very efficient.

Actually I see the following comparison:

                        - Dimensity 9000 series vs Snapdragon 8 series - Current SD 8 Gen 2 wins.

                        - Dimensity 8000 series vs Snapdragon 7 series - Is pending to see the 7+ Gen 1, because 8000 series destroy the 7 Gen 1.

                        - Dimensity 7000 series vs Snapdragon 6 series - This one is tricky. Curent 7000 series can beat the 6 Gen 1. But 6 Gen 1 has more potential since has 2 more big cores. If Qualcomm releases the 6 Gen 2, is likely to beat the 7000 series.

                        - Dimensity 1080 vs Snapdragon 4 series - Here Dimensity destroys hard the Snapdragon. But Qualcomm might release something as a succesor (4 Gen 2).

On the lower end Mediatek have Helio G series (they should update their G99 and add more GPU cores, at least 2 more). Meanwhile... Qualcomm should release the Snapdragon 2 Gen 1 anytime soon.

Qualcomm should release 7+ Gen 1 or Gen 2 to compete. They must uphold their reputation

YUKI93, 16 Feb 2023Isn't the 8000 series built to compete against the 7 Gen 1?Supposedly, it should go that way. But with the 8100 showing similar performance to the likes of 870 and 888/888+, I see the D8000 line as the affordable flagship segment, kinda like D9000 Lite.

A715 core on the other hand seems to fix the efficiency issue so I expect better battery life on devices with the D7200, just like devices with SD 8 Gen 2 shows

Well SD 7 Gen 2 will likely to beat this, but even devices with SD 7+ and 7 gen 1 is scarce at best so we don't have much performance comparison. At the very least, the D7200 would slot in between SD778 and 870, possibly even beating 870.
