Anonymous, 20 Feb 2023This place is full of Samsung fanboys. Look at all those do... moreAnd full of haters and biased fanboys towards other phone brands

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2023They don't. I used iPhone xs max with 80% of battery l... moreMy iPhone X at 82% battery health which is now at 77% was getting 7-hour SOT on iOS12. By the time I got to iOS16, it's half that. Updates are overrated.

My Razr 5G keeps asking me to update to Android 12. I keep clicking later. I only accidentally updated my Flip 3 to Android 12 / One UI 4 because I accidentally tapped download the update instead of later one morning when I was barely waking up. I lost SamSprung but luckily CoverScreen OS is superior and I didn't lose with battery life.

I've done the whole update thing for years and my phone's battery life always gets torpedoed. My iPhone SE1 literally drains every 3% in one-minute once I turn data/LTE on. Wasn't like this on iOS10. But by 15, I'll be lucky if I get 3-hours SOT. My Pixel 3 still maintained its battery life and smoothness by never updating it beyond Android 9.

[deleted post]I do that too turn off auto update. It's clever they don't even let you rollback to the previous working update "protecting your privacy"

Anti-rollback to make sure you stay with the bug to force you to buy their new phone release like...

                  S23 Ultra 👏👏

[deleted post]Planned obsolescence is built on both hardware and software level.

You can't escape, even if you didn't update. The device knows that you are not updating from a long time.

And by the way how do you verify, if it is not updating in the background and not showing?

BJR, 20 Feb 2023Planned Obsolescence in full effect. Absolutely. Bang on the money.

People that can’t come up with a good alternative argument are deluded and living in cuckoo land suffering delusions of grandeur.

These companies DGAF about users experience only the green.

                          And water is wet…

More proof that software updates are overrated and useless.

                          Crappy Samsuck strikes again.

There’s zero incentive for them to make good software updates. They’ll find some way to make it unbearable for you so you update, get a poorer experience and then upgrade to the latest phone.

Samsungs update are very buggy and after the device is more than a year old they give up on it and bring late buggy updates if at all.
