For me this is a no-go right from the outside. What was their idea when designing that horrible camera bump on the back? It's just so ugly, I miss the old days of their simple and elegant designs from P30/P40 Pro. This is just too weird to look at, for me at least.

Eliophome, 23 Mar 2023Is this the phone with the best camera lens on the market now? I have seen comparisons on weibo against the mate 50 where the image appears higher quality.

Whether this is the best phone got photography depends on your wants and needs. If you feel the depth of field is too shallow on other flagships and the lenses are too wide, then Huawei is your best option.

looks like not much is new compared to the Mate 50 Pro except for an exceptionally ugly design.

Super Android 22, 23 Mar 2023The main sensor on the x6 pro can do up to 2 times complete... morePortraits with 23mm? Lens this wide causes distortion of faces and messes with proportions.
This is why recommended is to use from 70 to 135.

The problem with Huawei, is their pictures look great on the phone screen, but absolutely terrible on other devices or on larger screens

So disappointing. I was looking into upgrading P30. But at that giant shovel size P60 is DOA for me. It's out of options now. What they've been even thinking about. After flop of large P50 and success of compact iPhone Pro and Galaxy S22 they should have been go similar way, but instead absolutely pointless device.

Madmallu, 23 Mar 2023Nope..it's the vivo x90 pro plus.. because it has a te... moreThe main sensor on the x6 pro can do up to 2 times completely fine so no need for a telephoto (tbh the 2x ones are generally for portrait shots i thought?). Like 5.6x zoom without quality loss is perfectly fine (then added digital zoom up to 10x should be fine too). Itll be close and more personal choice than 1 being superior to the other.

Anyway p60 pro in China is gonna outsell x90 pro+, x6 pro and 13 ultra.
Easily more than all 3 combined (I'd be surprised if these three reach 2 millions together)

Niky Tamayo, 23 Mar 2023If you are shooting raw, the bigger the sensor, the better.... moreMany ppl think 24mm f1.4 from phone has same size of 24mm f1.4 of pro lens.

Majority of phones have main camera with lens aperture diamenter smaller than 6mm, while 24mm f1.4 full frame lens would have 17,14mm.

Zuzuz, 23 Mar 2023What actually are you doing that an 8.1+ can't handle?! Nothing, but P60 series should be cheaper since they didn't get the last gen silicon

rizki1, 23 Mar 2023which one is good? 1 inch sensor or variable aperture? It s... moreIf you are shooting raw, the bigger the sensor, the better.

The variable aperture does actually help the sensor mimic a larger one in terms of bokeh and light gathering, but ultimate low light sensitivity is not going to be the same as a good 1" sensor. (That said, lens quality is also a major differentiator, even if you have a bigger sensor, if it's behind a crappy lens, you are not going to get very sharp images!)

Huawei's variable aperture is a fun toy to play around with when you are trying to get different depth of field effects, but F1.4 on a phone camera is nowhere near as shallow as F1.4 on a good DSLR lens. In the end, you will likely leave it on auto most of the time, unless you are taking portrait shots.

blue, 23 Mar 2023There is literally no difference in DOF between f2 or f1,6 ... moreI've got the Mate 50 Pro. There is a small but noticeable difference when going from the standard F2.0 to F1.4 for portraits. Enough so that you get the edges of the subject's head (around the ears and hair) slightly out of focus compared to the standard.

F1.4 with the 50's 1/1.56" sensor is enough to give it similar bokeh and light sensitivity to the older 1/2.8" sensor. It just can't give it the same ultimate detail sensitivity when you get to pixel peeping levels.
