If they don't improve selfie camera, will not opt for it. Currently owning Mi 11 Ultra, was about to buy 13 Pro but after knowing about selfie camera, decided not to buy. If you have improved selfie, will buy 13 Ultra or else will wait and get Pixel 8 Pro.

3x and 5x makes no sense.. A 2x F1.6 and 5x F3 would make sense to me. The Wide and UW should be great.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2023Yes, you are right.
We are very desperate with the GREAT... moreSimple answer, samsung make more phones and sell in more markets, statistically it should be out selling xiaomi, oppo and oneplus combined but they arent. They also spend a multitude times more than them combined on marketing and make far greater losses.
Basically samsung SHOULD be selling more devices to make up for losses (again samsung spend a lot more than all other companies bar apple). Wasnt the comment "people only buy sub £200 chinese phones" well ive proven you're wrong.
Enjoy your samsung device, again i wouldnt touch one anymore, you're clearly the target audience and you fall for it (you learn a lot about the marketing tactics and how 9/10 people fall for them, studying psychology, so im happy being the 1% using logic and self choice and not brainwashing marketing tactics) 👍
All bar 1 samsung user i know are tech stupid so that should really explain a lot and 1 person that isnt only got it because all the phone companies in the uk shove samsung devices down your throat, they had a p30 pro and a huawei tablet before that.

Edited DNG out of Moto G200 is gonna be miles better than jpeg out of X30 Ultra. Despite 1/1.52" vs 1/1.22".
Went to the zoo last week, took over 100 pics. Edited them on the subway.
Each photo does not even 20s to be done.
Problem is majority of brands try so hard to make photos look "pretty" but ruin them in the end. Old pocket cameras did not destroy photos like some phones.
Ridiculous some phones shoot iso3000, 4000, 6000 at night just to make scene brighter, while sacrificing texture.

This phone is for photograp... moreOf course, we would buy other brand even without your advice.😂
This would also explain why majority of people buy Samsung or Apple (based on statistic of sales number).
Because selfie camera is also important.

Super Android 22, 13 Apr 2023Ive been a user of chinese phones for years with Huawei and... moreYes, you are right.
We are very desperate with the GREAT sales number of Samsung flagship like always. Also, we are suffering with the success of Samsung. Must be sad life, using a phone with a popular Samsung brand and having great sales 😩
So, you are the 1% of all chinese phone user that spends over 200USD . So, my comment was correct.

Looking good Xiaomi! Based on the renders at least 13ultra looks a lot better than the ugly 12S Ultra.
The thing is as much as i want this, the past 3 ultras were not sold officially here in the UAE, unlike the Xiaomi 13 Pro which is available now. I got the privilege of using the Mi 11 ultra and that was a powerhouse (had to resell it because of the Chinese ROM which lessen the total experience).
International customers wants to see and feel the latest devices too, thats why i think Xiaomi is not making new customers because they tend to ship their devices to their stores in international markets few months after it was released in China and by that time the device reach us it is already 'old'.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2023I do this with my motorola. Option jpeg + raw shows hug... moreThing is, JPEGs are convenient as everyone supports it. I had iPhone for several years and working with its HEIC images was pretty annoying. Sure, they were smaller and higher quality, but I couldn't just use it anywhere. Even apps that supported HEIC usually required paid plugins or they didn't work well with it. In the end I just converted to JPEG which technically makes quality worse than straight to JPEG since it's second stage lossy compression after HEIC. Similar as with MP3. So many better formats nowadays, but of no real use since none of devices and players really support them well. MP3, literally anything in existence will play it and at higher bitrates, it just doesn't matter in the end.

Stop shooting JPGs, 13 Apr 2023How about just shoot RAW photos and problem solved?
Why to... moreI do this with my motorola.
Option jpeg + raw shows huge difference between both.
I just keep same shutter speed (1/350s) for daytime (bit overexposed on purpose) + base iso (100 for this device).
Go to lightroom and sets EV between -0.7 to - 1,35, play with shadows, black point, white point, contrast and clarity. No need to play with noise reduction etc ..
Final result is way better than many jpeg of phones with larger camera. Even viewed at 200, 300% trees are not mushed, cars and buildings do not look like wax
Do not believe if someone says some phones are able to use HDR + raw at higher res mode like 48/50/108/200MP. It is lie. Many do not even do at 12/12.5MP modes.
Photographyblog always posts raw files and clearly they have the exposure issues.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2023If you make phone large like Sony Z Ultra with 10mm thickne... moreno need to be that big.
but 12s ultra is too small
all other "ultra" flagships are bigger
x90 pro plus, x6 pro, s23 ultra
and yes i prefer a flagship with "mi max 3" or "x note" size.

And yet it just doesn't matter. While I generally like MIUI as such, it's absurdly over-aggressive task killing that can't be toned down or turned off (how come Samsung can do this right with its background apps management?) and tons of tiny bugs literally everywhere made me not want to use it. I'm using Galaxy S23 Ultra for like 2 months now and I couldn't spot a single issue with any of its functions, not even tiny ones, anywhere. I don't care if they put literal 1 inch sensor that actually measures 1 inch across the sensor, I still wouldn't buy it. And because of this, Xiaomi will never be in the big boys club no matter how hard they try. Using Samsung feels almost the same as iPhone in terms of consistency and quality. I can't say the same for any Xiaomi. Which is a shame because they make good phones and then always cock it up with buggy unreliable obnoxious software.
