I miss the old days of updating from Oreo to Pie and Then Q. Nowadays it's meh. Bad news is All thanks to the oems that launch phones with old hardware and old android version with heavy skins.

Good news is the devices with latest android version is most likely thanks to google, samsung, and some other who updates.

      It's a whole fragmentfest.

If you're looking for software fast update then get Samsung Galaxy flagship or Google pixel other than that you might get updates, but with bugs exactly what happened to me with android 12 on my bricked one plus 7 pro after getting android 12 update OTA direct from Oppo aka BBK group.

can it get worse after all these years, update apps and forgetting the most important thing the whole OS. fantastic low rating

Android 11 still on top thanks to Xiaomi 😂😂
Android 13 more than doubled compared to January thanks to Samsung 😁

Google already tries to make it easier for OEMs to develop upgrade for their devices. So now the only "bottleneck" is from OEM itself and the user. Companies, mostly companies are kinda lazy to extend their software updates. Most of their midrangers (except Samsung A3x and above line) are only receiving 2 times OS upgrades. How about their flagship? Yeah it's better, but not that much compared to iPhones. The best that we can got is 4 times OS upgrades and 5 years of security patch (Samsung did it first, then Oneplus and Oppo start following with their latest flagship this year).
But even though with that software policy, is that the only bottleneck? No lol, of the many people I know in my real life, both Android and iOS users, 95% (rough estimate) of them are too lazy to upgrade their OS, with the reason "doesn't really benefit much for me, as long as my devices still functions well I don't really think I need to upgrade my OS."

In all of 2022 (not only 4T 2022) all brands had negative growth figures and the only one in Android who sold more flagships was Samsung with S22 almost doubling S21 sales.

You say pure fiction. No other brand than Samsung gets 4 years of updates and 5 years of security patches, Oppo and OnePlus have both PROMISED it for their flagships after 2023 (let's see if that happens) while Samsung gives it solid since 2021 even in midranges, their Oppo, Realme or OnePlus midrange counterpart gives 2 years so please stop ashaming yourself boosting up and praising Chinese brands.
