yan, 05 Apr 2013 its funny, cuz ive never needed to transfer files thru blu... moreI shared files between phones with bluetooth or Wifi-Direct all the time. 100MB file can be transferred in less than 1 minute with Wifi-Direct.

yan, 05 Apr 2013 its funny, cuz ive never needed to transfer files thru blu... moreYeah, there are quite some nice methods/Apps (Dropbox, Bump,...) for transfering files from phone to phone. But all of these need a 3G (restrictive data plan!!!) or WiFi/Router in order to work.
In three years of owning a smartphone I've transfered around 50-100 files over BlueTooth v3.0 to around 5-10 different people. BT3 is pretty fast. If you're not near the router it can even go same speed as over WiFi, but if you're transfering to a BT2 device it can go really slow.
Once I've gone for a walk in a park and I transfered a movie in the meantime (no router or 3G needed) :)
And lately I've discovered Fast File Transfer app on Play Store that can make your device act as a router + file web server at the same time. So again no router needed + you can get really really fast speeds (1GB in less than 10minutes and it somewhat works towards iPhones too)! :D

AnonD-1385, 05 Apr 2013APPLE is just plain greedy. They want to get all the money ... more its funny, cuz ive never needed to transfer files thru bluetooth. i hardly share anything, but if i do, ive always used internet services for that, such as dropbox, or email. im pretty sure im not the only one who prefer those methods instead of bluetooth sharing.

APPLE is just plain greedy. They want to get all the money they can in the world while making crappy phones. Can you imagine iphone's bluetooth doesn't support file transfers??? Even the oldest Nokia and Samsung supports file transfers over bluetooth. Apple need to cut out the corporate greed!!!!!!

AnonD-1227, 05 Apr 2013I have read here many patents lawsuits settled in a German/... moreI would imagine that apple are trying to win cases in the biggest markets worldwide,, china, Brazil, Uk, Germany, France, USA, if apple can slow shipments to any of these countries then it is a huge dent in their sales, UK in excess of 60 million people, Germany 80 million, France 65 million, Brazil 200 million, USA 320 million, not much point targeting countries like you mentioned, they simply cannot affect sales.

The "American" software patent system is totally askew. Apple was granted a patent on sliding to unlock a mobile device. but the fact that it existed on an old Windows CE device in 2005 was totally overlooked.
What's going on here is this:
The richest and most powerful company in the world--a company that generates more cash in a day than most companies generate in a year--is suing a competitor for features that, arguably, shouldn't have been patentable in the first place. You copy, I copy, we all copy. FYI Samsung: Apple's iPhone was a Sony Ripoff

AnonD-129371, 05 Apr 2013Hopefully the round corners one is next to go.Keep laughing. Samsung are going to have to stop selling their phones in the US as they have infringed on an Apple text selection patent.
