at least apple has a reason to increase its price above 2000$ 🤑

AimeDuSable, 27 Apr 2023They want to make it cheaper. Same reason as to why Samsung... moreMicroLED is FAR different from MiniLED, in that a MicroLED has all of the incredible characteristics of an OLED but without the major compromises of it.

MicroLED has pitch blacks like OLEDs because they also emit their own light, but the materials are inorganic, which means the lifespan is just as long as conventional LEDs. No risk of burn-ins as well.

Anonymous, 26 Apr 2023There is ZERO chance in the next 3 years to see commerciall... moreSamsung Display has already unveiled prototypes of MicroLED displays being made in consumer-level TV sizes of 55" to 85". Give it more time and then we might see it incorporated into mobile smartphone screens as well.

Cost is absurdly as of the moment, but when more and more companies invest into the technology, it can be brought down much faster and make them commercially affordable by the general people.

They want to make it cheaper. Same reason as to why Samsung is using QLED instead of OLED on TVs

OLED is the best technology and does not mean headaches if the screen flickers at a fast enough rate.

[deleted post]If they already have a iphone then not really.

My S22U 512gb (€1449 without sales at launch) has a resale value of €450 euro in my country, that phone was more expensive than a 128gb iPhone 13 Pro (€1299 at launch).

Yet the resale value for that iPhone is €850 euro here.

So no not really if they sell the old one.

All I want is a true successor to the Mi 10T. Premium phone with a premium IPS LCD at a reasonable price. Is that too much to ask for?

I never got on the OLED bandwagon and never will. I'm not spending that much on something I have to cradle, hoping it won't burn-in or degrade too quickly. OLED is a scam designed to coerce you into buying new phones more often.

RealLifePhones, 26 Apr 2023Don't think iPhones will switch to microLED in 2025 😂😂... moreIt makes sense. If the lower models are getting the same feature as higher model at year X, then the higher model should adopt next generation tech at the same time. Else there won't be differentiation between them.

It can hurt and in some cases worsen eyesight, but only to people that have issues with PWM.

PWM gives eye strain to some because your eyes have to work harder to deal with it, something that is not the case with DC dimming.

It could worsen your eyesight and damage your eyes because of it, but companies don’t care so yeah.

So many of you are suddenly experts on MicroLED without ever having seen one. As someone who has, I can say that it is so much better than anything currently on the market. You get the per pixel brightness controls of OLED, without the low overall brightness, black smearing, or burn-in issues. Yes, it is outrageously expensive at the moment, but once it becomes cost-competitive all the major players will drop OLED ASAP.

As LCD is unfavored by manufacturers as well as users because of many Youtubers prefer OLEDs, so fasten your belt for soar in eye problems.

Deep black of OLEDs gona give you black out in your head.

OLEDs will ruin eyesight and also bring headache issues such as migraine.

Welcome to the new world of health degradation.
