Harris, 29 Apr 2023The size of transistors and other components in a chip can&... moreAfter 0nm, there is 0.9nm.

The biggest problem going smaller is not 0.1nm, average radius of an atom. It is the quantum mechanics effects affecting the semiconductor, way before reaching atom size. Similar problem affecting hard drive disk magnetic density, how small the flux can go on the magnetic particles on the platter.

Aman, 28 Apr 2023I'm curious what happens after they reach 0 nm manufac... moreThe size of transistors and other components in a chip can't be smaller than an atom, which is about 0.1 nm in diameter. Therefore, the smallest possible feature size in chip manufacturing is limited by the size of atoms.

AI assistant everyone will have within a few years, requires 250 gb on the desktop and 100 gb in the phone, Android will look like today's microOS, everything is visualized and will use resources in your surroundings, when you are at home/work your phone will be used available GPUs near you, Forget 8gb Forget Windows Forget current x86

Kaido, 28 Apr 2023Can it surpass the A17 Bionic?Probably not, not in CPU department. Though 8gen2 already smashing A16 in GPU performance. It will be interesting to see how it goes, but with a17 sounds like Apple will not hold anything back, considering A16 had almost no improvement from A15.

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2023Waiting for S24 series with that cpu and finally 16GB ram. That's one of the reason to ditch shitty Samsung. They stuck to 8gb since 2019, no progress. I went with OnePlus at least they provide 16gb.

Great, hope it will give Apple some competition, considering A16 still around 25% faster than 8 gen 2 in CPU performance.

Not sure what is Qualcomm trying to do here, but IMO, having 4 performance cores at 3.3GHz and 4 efficient cores at 2.8GHz is enough. Pump up L1 cache by 4x and, L2 cache by 2x. Embed the ram into the SoC like apple did, 12GB in 4 channels ultra low latency LPDDR5x. There's no need for a prime core clocked at 3.7GHz. Vapour chamber cooling.

Manufactured using TSMC N4x fabrication tech if N3P not available.
