Kevin bacon promotes the same device for EE, whats kevin bacon got to do with samsung?
Its all marketing stratagy, get a pretty woman/famous person/group/band/attractive man for your adverts then most people subconsciously associate the device with "attractive/successful/popular people use this device, i want that".

Anonymous, 01 May 2023Great let’s ignore people that have issues with UD FP scann... moreBasically yeah, if you're the minority user of certain features and they remove them they dont mind losing your sale for the majority that will buy the device still. We all know know apple sells well (they have less bloated product stack too vs most companies even samsung) so their hardcore user base dont care if a feature goes even on multiple products when the reputation of the company is "consumer useability/consistent quality" which apple are best in, you get a device that you know and that you know will last a long time. We're seeing samsung and pixels go down this route because it sells better.
I mean id prefer having a proper IR face unlock sensor like apple, huawei and honor and pixel 4 (huawei implemented great air gestures that actually worked well too, pixel not so much), with an UD ultrasonic sensor like samsung and honor and a captive physical sensor on the back (built in to the logo or something so it looks clean) all at the same time. My huawei mate 10 pro could use the captive sensor to pull down and put up the notifications panel, could implement gestures like that for physical gesture input while also having a secure unlock option (could disable it snd use for gestures only). 3 secure ways to unlock, the user chooses how they unlock and they get baked in gesture implemention that makes navigating far easier.
We will never see this, removable batteries, majority adoption of side mounted FP sensors, re adoption of the jack or sd card slot again (other reasons are manufacturing/R&D costs and companies wanting to make more profit from said costs)

I personally like stock android a lot because phone makers will often update their phone so it doesent clear it's cache overtime and gives you space torubles forcing you to change manually clear the cache or delete your data until you are forced to change your phone

I know moat people don’t care because they don’t have the issue, but there are people like me where UD FP scanners fail at scanning the finger (even the Samsung ones) most of the time, while physical do not.
But the market doesn’t care, because people like me can f-off because we are the niche.

I think the design's cool but they're starting to blend into each other already. This and the previous ones look so similar, kind of a shame tbh. I don't like this trend of similar looking phones from Samsung, Apple and Sony.

Louis, 01 May 2023I am definetly getting one, my S10 is on its last legs..As a person who went from previous 2 Samsung phones to my current Xperia 5 II... Don't do it. To say the software is a complete trash is an understatement. I am never coming back to Sony phones again, it's just not worth saving a few bucks compared to equivalent Galaxy S phone (which is usually superior in every single conceivable way).
