That's the third name for the same chipset after the Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1300.

But can this run PUBG at 60 FPS tho

MRSTEK, 09 May 2023Dimensity 1100 has around 10% higher Wild Life scores compa... moreI have to agree on the point that LPDDR4X should be phased out from high-end and sub-premium phones (>USD500), which might be one of the reasons why Mediatek puts the D1200 family of chipsets below D8100 and 8200 (bar the 8000 since it was rarely used and 8100 already superseded it).
They also don't have the nomenclature allocation to put them into 7000-series; doing so will hurt their value and make the public underestimates the power of those SoCs, which is still fairly capable albeit nowadays it will only trade blows with Qualcomm's older mid-range offering such as SD778/782. Besides, D7000-series is already filled with derivatives of D900, and D6000-series with its D700 rebrand.

MRSTEK, 09 May 2023Dimensity 1100 has around 10% higher Wild Life scores compa... moreDo remember that the 1100 is fabbed under TSMC N6 process (vs 1000+'s TSMC N7), which notably increase power efficiency, and in case of the 1100, increasing its overall performance, not just its GPU. Again it strengthen the point that there are multiple factors contributing to a system's performance, and while memory subsystem is one of the key factors, it isn't the only contributor.

Mills, 09 May 2023It'll prob backfire when they notice the 7050 is the s... moreD7050 is renamed as 7050 because the chip it was based on (D1080, part number MT6877/V) was actually based off a Dimensity 900 (MT6877). By doing so, MediaTek is consciously putting the 7050 (rebadged 1080) to the realm it belong, the mid-range, not the sub-premium market implied by its old branding.

The mistake was done and it wasn't doing them any favors, they hoped with the rebrand they could reinstate product categorization as it should, but ended up confusing end users anyway.

Anonymous, 09 May 2023Newer types like ddr5/5x also have better fab processes ...hence demanding relatively higher price than the less advanced LPDDR4X. Eventually LPDDR5/5X will catch up and be the primary memory technology to use, but for the meantime the highest-clocked LPDDR4X will do just fine, certainly won't be the best, but still a sensible choice.

Apart from the chipset, performance is not affected by memory capacity, but the speed of the memory.
