Is the screen LTPO? I only know that they use black frame insertion to increase the refresh rate from 120Hz to 240Hz but there's no info about they using LTPO or not.

Altough, I don't think the B10 and the Nokia 3.1 have anything to do with each other, just some similar specs.

if the chin wasn't there on cutout one it would actually be a pretty solid competitor

Japanese phones are intriguing because they have a respectable camera, headphone jack, expandable memory, and excellent material quality. Their downside is that Japan uses carrier-locked phones. The radio bands and software needed to work elsewhere aren't there.
Even the regional phones that Sony sells outside of Japan have minimal (or no) carrier compatibility.

pauliusb, 10 May 2023Dont do that mistake. Keep your LG V60 as long as possible.... moreIt absolutely is not one of the best phones in 2023. The only thing good is the DAC but nowadays any decent usb-c dongle easily performs on par with it.

pauliusb, 10 May 2023Dont do that mistake. Keep your LG V60 as long as possible.... moreI never said I'm getting rid of it I just wanna get a new phone. Snapdragon 865 is well fast but games don't run super well on it and I'd like something better. I'll still keep my V60, just will use the 1 V as my main phone. There's multiple reasons for that: Dedicated telephoto camera
                  Better main sensor
                  4K120FPS video
                  Snapdragon 8 gen 2
Brand new phone = waterproof seal (my V60 was repaired, and it's gotten splashed a few times. Worrying to say the least)
                  Notchless display without rounded corners
                  Brighter display
                  Dedicated shutter button
                  Finer camera controls

All of which add up to 1000$ of value for me.

I know someone in the comments will probably feel the need to flex their brand bias by telling me I should just get an S23 Ultra, and the answer is no. No headphone jack or expandable storage is a dealbreaker for me.

"camera rings on both phones also double as passive coolers"
That's really cool. The areas around the camera is where one would touch the least and is also a proper justification for large island.

                      beautiful phones from japan

Sharp may be a niche manufacturer, but the phones they make have everything we want and more.

I have an actual question - why aren't any of the R6/7 Phones in the database? It's been so long already.

Hope other OEMs will start adopting IGZO displays on their phones, and hell, they'll be perfect for gaming phones because of that 1-240hz refresh rate

DarlingYext, 09 May 2023They also tried during the android era, unfortunatelly not ... moreAll probably because Foxconn, the licensee of the Sharp brand for phones, tend to overprice their products. They could've continued to manufacture Nokia phones if they bit the bullet and didn't ask for a huge profit margin for competitive markets like India, but instead they dropped the ball on manufacturing them when they couldn't keep up with the competition.

It's probably more profitable for Foxconn to overprice the products they make, since they manufacture all Sharp and Fujitsu phones for Japan and Taiwan, as well as Sony phones for the rest of the world, because people recognize those brands as Japanese. (Panasonic is not part of Foxconn's product lineup because they are licensed to TCL)

                                    I am amazed ridiculously.
all this specs, hardware features with flagship chipset.

I think, Sony & Sharp should collaborate and release a flagship level phone globally (hopefully with lower price as compare to competitor)

because this too r the only OEMs who bring all feature which ideally a flagship phone should have.
