DarlingYext, 09 May 2023Dear Sharp, please come out of Japan!Interestingly enough, some Sharp phones are essentially recycled Nokia phones that also share a similar source code. For example, the Sharp Aquos V and R are variations of the Nokia 8 for the Japanese market where Nokia isn't sold officially. Also the Sharp Aquos S3 High is also a redesigned Nokia 7 Plus. The Sharp Aquos Sense is a rehashed Nokia 6 in a smaller body, and the Sense Plus/S3/X4/Android One S7 is a rebranded Nokia 6.1/7 for Japan. Sharp Aquos S3 Plus is a rebranded Nokia 6.2 too.
Getting a Nokia phone is the same as getting a Sharp phone that works all around the world.

R8 Pro has fl of 19mm which is pretty much ultrawide. Reason for a small crop and 19mm is to keep thickess in check unlike Oppo, Vivo, Xiami which are all listed at 9.5mm thickness while in reality camera bumps adds another 5mm

Also, the camera is not that great, but on par with others. The display, the most expensive part on these phones, are also almost on par with others.
In reality Sharp phones are just a niche in the market

i really can't comprehend why they removed the expandable storage and headphone jack, sure the micro sd is very slow compared to the internal storage but it could still be used as bulk storage if needed, i mean you don't have to use it but at least there are options when you need it.

Both phones are going on open sale in Japan from July 15? Even Sony don't leave their phone long enough to be on sale anymore. I won't be surprised if the Sony Xperia 1 v will be officially available a month after announcement, just like they did with last year's Xperia 1 iv.
