So, instead of using TSMC chip to fix their own temperature problem, google now wants to detect temperature of others?

I greztly appreciated that. We need more real life sensing capabilities for our major everyday life devices. I remember magnificent Galaxy S4 with its tons of sensors.

According to a report by Counterpoint Research, 51 percent of the Pixel 7 Pro is made of Samsung components. This means Samsung contributes more to the Pixel 7 Pro’s bill of materials (BoM) than Google.
The AMOLED display accounts for 20 percent of the Pixel 7 Pro’s production cost. Samsung also built the 50 MP ISOCELL GN1 sensor for the Pixel 7 Pro’s main camera.
The [Samsung] AMOLED display accounts for 20 percent of the Pixel 7 Pro’s production cost. Samsung also built the 50 MP ISOCELL GN1 sensor for the Pixel 7 Pro’s main camera.
The LSI image sensors for the periscope and the selfie cameras were also built by Samsung. Moreover, Samsung is also responsible for the cellular communication system.
Also, the Tensors soc is exynos rebranded (and modified a bit k guess).
Is that copy or just partnering?

TBH, I do not hate this feature, but the usual question is what is the accuracy - I do own some highly regarded thermometer, but a lot of them are notorious for inconsistency or just pure in-accuracy.
Same goes for Pixel Watch, it is nice it can measure heart rate so quickly, but considering the accuracy it is pretty much pointless.

6.52 screen size? They just lost a potential customer.
I am on the 6.8" of s23u and won't go lower than 6.75, unless Google will release an Ultra version with a 6.75~8"

I think this shows how fast Google's development of features is. They probably had this idea when COVID hit, and it took them 3 years to finish implementing it. Outstanding.

Better position for the thermometer is near the selfie camera at the front. But no problem for a Pixel Fold if on the back since you can open the phone.

Cosmik, 19 May 2023If you have a fever, you already know 🤷🏻♂️But when you actually check with a thermometer, you often find you were wrong. So don't trouble the doctor for nothing, you're fine.

I still use the motion sense feature on my Pixel 4, and I love it so much.
So sad that was just a one-off feature, never to be seen again in future Pixels.
