All the super cores are super efficient too. Clocking them at two different clocks each, could really efficiency and performance to the max.

I hope this leak is true , I'd like to see something that changes our understanding of what's "possible"
You can't please people, when things are the same people complain about "minor improvements"/minor upgrade
When things have the potential to reshape and be a massive change then people complain
Do your best mediatek, Qualcomm gets a pass when they make mediocre improvements and only make proper improvements when they feel threatened
Mediatek you don't have that luxury you have to take risks and try things outside the box because no matter what they do people already are ready to discredit them
Hopefully this succeeds and fires up serious competition and if it fails I hope they learn from it

that might turn out to be a CPU for notebooks as the cortex x4 is consumes far more energy than an efficient low power a520, so battery life would suck on a smartphone with that many power cores

Smartphones have such complex operating systems with such an absurd amount of features that it is pretty much impossible to know every single one of them. Not even the developers of iOS and Android probably know all features of the respective operating systems. They work in teams of thousands of people, each responsible for their own set of features.

To everyone saying it's impossible: it's not. If they heavily underclock the rest of the x4 cores then it will be very efficient AND still faster than the full/high frequency A500 cores. The highest end silicon is always very efficient when power limited. For example: The rtx 4090 is still a lot faster than the 4080 even if you limit the power draw of the 4090 to match the power draw of 4080.

4 Cortex-X4 would be too ridiculous for passive cooled devices, such as smartphones. A 2 Cortex-X4 + 2 Cortex-A720 + 4 lower clocked A720 makes more sense.

Perfect!! 4 x4!!! But, we will need some tweek for underclocking if the phone is getting hot. Just that.
