What features it removed? It added features, i haven't had any bugs with iOS16 working great and the new lockscreen is great.

Oh no the company that doesn't bend to carrier restrictions have 81% of their phones updated to the latest OS version. Yeah, really puts to shame Android makers that need to get go signals from carriers to get updates pushed to gazillions of telco/regional/country variants.

Even an ancient 2013 Android phone can have a variation of the latest Android OS in the form of custom firmwares. Which raises the question as to why most security or feature updates need to be lock behind newer android versions,

not sure why this stats is a surprise to anyone. All iPhone 14 models are shipped with it, and older iPhones made after iOS16 is out are also shipped with iOS16 out of the box.

In fact, it should've been higher if iOS16 was not full of bugs.

Also, new versions of Android uses ART whether you use Kotlin or Java. Apps written in Java aren't slower. Stop talking nonsense.

[deleted post]Google should opt out programing in Java And only use Kotlin like Apple Do with Swift. Programing apps in Java makes them just slower plus they have to use Runtime ART/Dalvik. Also some of the Android source code Is still in Java which Is not good. And that Apple stolen from Xerox, we know that. Than Microsoft stolen IT from Apple buy programing Office for Mac.

5-6 versions of iOS is useless.

I can't Tell the diference between 60 And 120 Hz on my S21 FE 😅😅 even at 60 Hz the battery life Is horrible like with 120 (there Is not adaptive refresh rate ok both S20 FE And S1 FE). And i am going for iPhone 14 Pro which has 120 Hz LTPO display, So another no dealbreaker for mě 😅 but the regullar 14 And 14 Plus Are non sense in my opinion. With both things you said 60 Hz display And A15 chipset. People better buy regular iPhone 13 with one less GPU core, which they Will not able to Tell the diference. Or rather go with 13 Pro instead od 14 or with 13 Pro Max instead of 14 Plus. And yes SE is a laugtable device.

Real question is ? Does all 81% iphones has same ios 16 feature ? Or just some ios 16 number displayed in their settings without actually gettting feature update

Android doesnt have to wait for one year to update their system apps

Old phoness simply gets system update without actual feature update

If you ask people what are the iOS changes over the year from iOS 1 to iOS 16 they will say they can change wallpaper for lockscreen and always on display

Official repairs for iphones cost more than any other smartphone.
Iphones 60hz screens(iphone 14/14plus) are almost as expensive as for example Oneplus 1440p 120hz screen..... Thats why most people are paying extra for Apple care..

Not to mention, iphones are the only devices without typeC so far, which sucks.

I was on the same boat as you until Apple starting holding back any Non Pro iphones, especially with Iphone 14.

Why is the expensive 14/14Plus with a 2year old A15 SoC and 60hz display?

Software support is overall nice, but they really need to step up in the hardware for non Pro models.

I stay on 15 and see what 17 brings. The Lock Screen redesign removed some features and wallpapers I liked and people complain about bugs. I hope iOS 17 will not bring as many big new features in exchange for less bugs.

Also, I‘d love 10 years of software support with feature updates on phones. A 2013 flagship might be slow on a 2023 OS, but I don’t feel like a 2018 flagship will be running extremely poorly on the latest version in 2028.

Because it's bad business, Android OEMs gives poor support because they want you to buy new phone, they won't get anything if you keep the same phone, Android OEMs except few have ecosystem which makes money with current users, only thing they get is the phone sales so they do everything to get you upgrading. For Apple it's win win situation, if you keep old iPhone or nyt new model you very likely to spend money in their ecosystem so Apple wouldn't care unless you leave iPhone.
