It's coming next year for the princely sum of $3,499.

[deleted post]I mean they do price their shit to the max to be "superior" same thing with a lambo vs a tuned honda. People would want the lambo cuz it shows richness so yea.

A15bionic is a 6core M1/M2 chip, it’s funny how the 2core version of their scalable architecture is M and not A. Also A chip power management is good but batteries blows but flagship apple gear is a must so what to do!

A15bionic is a 6core M1/M2 chip, it’s funny how the 2core version of their scalable architecture is M and not A. Also A chip power management is good but batteries blows(a guy made a vibration plate says it will disperse heat, another one was trying to 3D print it but eventually figured a professional dealing with electronics and analogue at same time doesn’t exist, theoretically it can be done with all 5G infrastructure but that involves automotive and banking on the round table) So the iSheeps don’t want to leave with a blow do they, but flagship apple gear is a must so what to do! Please buy one :D

Didn't give a toss about it before the announcement.... Didn't give a toss about it after.

            1) 4k is to be expected in a VR headset. Too low a res means you're gonna see a screen door effect.

            2) A dual core version of the M2? Is that just the CPU getting nerfed? Idk much about Apple's chip architecture but if they're also nerfing the GPU then that's one hell of a mistake. 😂 I'm gonna assume they left the GPU alone.

            3) Lets not even get into the absurd pricing.

Though, idc. I never planned on buying one of these. They're a good thing no matter what purely because the VR market is dry and now Apple is releasing a VR headset. So hopefully it means more people will become interested in trying VR and companies will release better stuff.

[deleted post]its their way to force you into buying latest iphone. you are just trying to pair your watch ultra with a 5 year old iphone.

                      The unreal world of apple

Apple's way to success was to create highly attractive, and extremely easy to use ecosystems around a specific hardware, e.g. their iTunes and digital libraries around the iPod, or the Appstore around their iPhones.

I wonder what specific applications and use cases these "diving goggles" are supposed to provide opposite a smartphone.

I can use all of these apps with a phone, too, I can watch movies and listen to music via phone, too.
Do, I fail to see THE killer-application of those goggles that is going to replace a phone.

Nobody in their right mind is going to walk around on the street wearing these goggles.

I think this headset is just a demo of Apple's tech.

It's more logical to target different customers with different headsets. For e.g. most work no need 4k, most entertainment does not need "spatial computer" and etc.

However, it's really nice to see someone build the "computer" I spoke to my superior when the company was exploring 1st gen Microsoft Hololens :)

IpsDisplay, 05 Jun 2023Honestly if you gonna burn 3.5K USD Why not spend 1.5k i... moreOr buy 3.5k of Apple stock. Or 3.5k of food. With reasoning like this you can go every direction.

That's an Apple product and that's the price they've set. You can buy but you can also choose not to buy. Period.

Likely it came from Samsung or Boe. 2. microLED displays have already been out and in consumer product for a few years now. Samsung's The Wall displays use microLED and some other one off products from smaller tech companies like smartwatches and other true VR headsets use them too. Apple is not only late to the game, but did contribute much.

                                      DOA

AR/VR computer with a $3499 price tag. Equal to the price of a high end laptop, desktop and cheese grater Mac. But with only 2 hours of battery pack that you can't change cables or use a connector because it's "proprietary". Yeah unless you're really bored with reality I don't think this is it. Maybe for some people, but not this.
