Weekly poll results: port-less phones may be an unfortunate future, according to most

25 June 2023
Few are enthusiastic about this possible future, but hopes that the EU will prevent it may be barking up the wrong tree.

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2023That's why EU is mandating removable batteries startin... moreThey should have mandated SD Card Slots and Headphone Jacks instead. I never had problems with my any of my nonremovable battery phone's battery till 7 years later.

ill just not buy a phone next 5 years till next trend comes around, but then again im from the eu and i know they will tell manufacturers no to this.
ive had it with these dumb innovations that arent really useful, just give us back replaceable batteries bro.

IF, there's a high-end phone that still features sd card slot + 3.5mm jack, AND released in EVERY country (so Sony doesn't count), I would by it in a heartbeat. But alas, I'm FORCED to get S23U (because I want the largest non-foldable screen, best cpu, the stylus, and don't like iOS) since that's the one available in my country.

'wired charging is never going away' XD

If they manage to connect the phone to a pc wirelessly, with the phone turned off, it has a chance. Otherwise you'll have to send the phone to the service center for every single problem.

THAT is the really sad part, that there is a solution for this upcoming terrible portless madness.

I rather have a port, for many other reasons than that.

And some “cool kids” that purposefully ignore the issues can call me a dinosaur if they want to, I don’t care because they not caring is the reason why all these companies get away with all these stuff.

I hope those times of squeaking and self-disassembling phones are never coming back.

It may be strange at first. But overall I'm not against if companies can do it properly.

BrianCoriour, 25 Jun 2023Do companies even test if all those waves are safe with hum... moreCarriers will tell you yes it's all safe and tested, any amount of google searching will tell you that 3G has been tested (after public release), 4G is possibly being tested, 5G as far as I know isn't being tested but might be in a few years. Wifi and Bluetooth have never been safety tested, as far as I know. However I'd consider those lower priority since they're lower power than 3G/4G/5G.

Do companies even test if all those waves are safe with human and pets ?

Cuz people already say that having the phone to your ear for too long can cause cancer or something cuz of the 4G and even worse with 5G. Including the wifi router being next to your head when you sleep as well as the phone next to your head while you sleep too ofcourse.

Soooo does it get tested at all ?
