              Comment - It is pitiful. I love sony phones, but software support on them is abysmal. They are a corporation, we don't need to be boot-licking apologists for their bad decisions.

                  I doubt that, those A series devices look and feel insanely cheap and they are made by a couple of ODMs, like Wingtech and such. There is insane profit margin on them.

                    People here do not understand that only chinese brands can sustain selling many sub-$300 phones because they are too cheap to make. So many of them are ODM.
                    Samsung is trying to push Z series to make it out for short money M series/low A devices bring.

                    LG tried to play the game "let's flood market with cheap phones", well did not work.

                    There is no way brands like Sony/Asus/Htc/Motorola/HMD (not even samsung can) to sell phones powered by 778/7g1 with 1080p@120Hz, 8GB/256GB, imx766 for $300-350 like chinese brands do.

                    Then they think higher price of foreign brands is all about profit margin. Some still believe xiaomi makes 5% per phone (😂😂).

Some people there and here already admitted this niche status fact, yet you were still insisting on the opposite. Bruh, it's been 3–4 years since the shift!

                          All Tech YouTubers (big like MKBHD or small like JuanBagnell), tech sites (GSMArena, TrustedReviews), and tech communities have already said it out loud multiple times regarding Xperia's niche status. Where it has shifted their focus to their audience of Sony fans, Sony Alpha users, and prosumers of semi-professional and professional, hence they no longer care about big market share like they used to and no longer compete with the mainstream companies like Samsung, Apple, BBK, or Xiaomi, and do their own march, as Sony has viewed Xperia as their enthusiasts, side-project division to implement their bigger divisions like Alpha or their Semiconductor division. Akin to the Toyota situation, where the Toyota Corolla is their mainstream product (commercial success), while the Lexus LFA is their enthusiasts' product (niche success).

                          Additionally, Xperia's income and operational state have shown better results when they are pursuing niche audiences right now (while adopting certain contemporary features like HRR, more advanced image processing, or Night Mode) than when they were pursuing mainstream markets prior to 2019 (XZ3 was the last mainstream Xperia ever, and even that didn't appeal to the mainstream, while the 1 V did appeal to niches).

                          I didn't even mention the detailed telecommunications technologies for Sony's other divisions, another reason why Sony keeps Xperia around, from their older interview or external companies like Qualcomm, in this article, where it strengthens the fact that Sony Xperia will still be around for more years to come.

                              Would be great if Sony finaly uses some preium and future like tech.
                              Like fast charging no jack, no SD slot and reduced price compared to competition.
                              Any Xiaomi, Realme, Meiizu, Nubia etc for same price outputs 2x better device in every single aspect including a lot of accesorries in box.
