          Also, not everything needs hi res or hi speed, you got also a choice to use low res.
          Just like tough phones with thermal and IR cameras, all those special options add to the value of the phone.
          That's why sony phones feel so pricy.
          Given what kind of cameras sony got, it just feels unreal they undervalue their phone, not to mention with all tech rumors and new lens tech, it seems like competition of phones to full size FF cameras is not a dream, but a matter of time.
          Not good for sony to cripple their phones and I hope there is more competition, not just us dreaming on sony's posts.

              2. Even just now I recorded in 8k and saved some stills from it, It's way better than stills from 4K,
              3. 8K in one camera vs 8K in all of them, its just too different, the same as having 200mp in one camera but 10mp in other one, which is quite bad for those who use multiple FoV.
              Well, Sony got none, which is like... what are they doing...

                Samsung Mobile has revenue almost as high as entire Sony Group.

                  In the end, it’s the typical Japanese company unable to compete in a modern market. Sony had the brand, but they let it languish with piss poor marketing that Samsung pretty much took over the mid to high end while the Chinese covers the mid to low segment. And I bet the Japanese management had no clue what they did wrong.

Even though they're tall, they're actually very narrow which menas 1 handed use is a lot easier and the issue of not being able to reach the top of the screen with your thumb can be resolved in software more easily in comparison to trying to make 1-handed work on a wide beast like the s23 ultra for example.

                          I think flip-style foldables are taking over the market niche for phones with a genuinely small footprint for pocketability and small handed users over lines like the iphone mini and xperia compact. The issue with truly mini slab style phones is that cramming all the components into a smaller space takes more engineering to do than you need for a bigger footprint which, counterintuitively, makes them more expensive to develop (R&D wise).

                            Continue making the most expensive and over priced phones around that is.
                            At least this part phone they weren't as many years behind in speakers, camera, and battery. Though could still really do a few years of catching up in screen brightness.

                                        Sony certainly have some great phones. I feel that perhaps the range is concentrated a bit niche. If there were a size offering like there historical compact size or close, that could open more sales as well
