It's likely that even tho apple will switch to usb C finally they will limit all of it's functions to only apple certified cables thereby continuing the exclusivity and profits

Which kind of species voted for the otherwise?

Bet this port won’t do OTG support, won’t support any functionality, dock or anything not made or approved by Apple. As restrictive as Lightning was, just a different shape. It would be nice if they made them work like the iPad’s with real USB-C ports but this is Apple!

imagine if there are several countries that require lightning port than USB-C even for Android..

USB-C is the winner here because there are already more devices than lightning.

They can’t demand royalties on USB-C because it’s a royalty free standard unlike Lightning where they can charge accessory maker for every MFi Lightning accessory sold.

Can we please ban those 152 people who said switching to type c will do more environment harm.

                Also dox them..😈

EU pretty much already said that Apple can’t limit the speed of the USB cable or do things like MFi cables. They’ll probably do limit the speed on the port side of the phone which is a classic Apple move to get people to buy the more expensive Pro models.
