All those crazy RAM power on modern smartphones, yet we still can't natively run desktop virtualization on the phone. With this kind of power, the phone can easily be the only computer an average consumer ever need.

I'm using a Redmi Note 11S with 6 GB of RAM, it can't even keep 5 apps(not games) in the background without reloading them.
I feel like the MIUI 14/Android 13 update made it worse.
Edit: I'm trying right now, the phone battery is reaching 40°C, and it becomes laggy as well, 50% brightness only.

Kingchin33, 12 Aug 2023All flagship smartphones base versions should have at least... more256GB has been like 2020. Were approaching the end of 2023 and you think the base storage for flagship models should start at 256GB? It should've been 1TB as a base model since majority of flagships don't have expandable storage!

For me. I don't care if it has NVME or UFS 3.1/4.0. What I need is a big internal storage! Especially if the android manufacturers couldn't put an expandable storage on their flagship models!

Gone are the days when smartphones can be used for cloud gaming. Both Apple and Google knew this. Google went ahead and shut down google stadia. Meanwhile, apple arcade is going on a different story.

Kingchin33, 12 Aug 2023All flagship smartphones base versions should have at least... moreIphone's storage variants good for consumers? You need to pay 710 euros more to get 1 TB model, when market price for that amount of memory is about 50€ or even less. Samsung is less greedy and asking only 420€ more for 1 TB model.
5-15 times the margin on memory sales. This is the only reason why all flagship phones except Sony doesn't have microSD slot.

Foxtrot2Novmbr, 12 Aug 2023What's the use of having this so much ram on the phone... moreAll flagship smartphones base versions should have at least 256GB Storage, as 128GB Storage simply isn't nearly enough for most people these days.

As for iPhones they do have 1TB, 2TB Storage variants which is good for consumers.

But not so good is iPhones use NVME Storage which is slower than UFS 3.1 from Android phones of a few years ago.

NVME much slower than the super fast UFS 4.0 Storage now used in flagship Android phones.

What's the use of having this so much ram on the phone? What is NEEDED the most is the STORAGE! If the iphone 15 would have 2TB of Internal Storage. Why most android still sticking at 512GB of storage with no expandable storage?

Such an overkill. No one really needs this much memory on a phone....well the OS programmers will as they are getting more lazy optimizing it. Maybe i'll just get Googles phones as they still keep it real and not gone with the spec ørgy but still managing to provide capable device.
