Samsung's Exynos 2400 specs surface, to feature a 10-core CPU

A huge improvement in the GPU department also awaits.

We've all seen this movie. We all know how it ends. It's all hype and promises at first, then release comes to underwhelming performance, heating issues and higher power draw. I'm far more interested to see what the snapdragon 8 gen 3 or mediatek 9300 bring than this guaranteed overheating mess.

Hemedans, 22 Aug 2023If you read that problem has nothing to do with Exynos, i Q... moreBruh, you're the one in denial. I have read all the pages in that thread because I was doing my research before buying my next phone. Most people complain of awful standby drain and 4-6 hours SOT, so if you're going to ask people if they read something, do it yourself first. The A34 is a similar device and I haven't seen anyone complaining. So yeah, I'll take a not so wild guess and say it is the Exynos being Exynos.

I also said that I don't think their chips are inefficient, just that they fall short compared to similar competitors that use a better manufacturing process. Or do I have to lecture you as well about how the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 improved a lot on the original 8 Gen 1 just by moving to TSMC?

I just mis clicked and post comment but i not finish and i will continue here:). I dont understand wy some of you people said that this CPU will be an fully succes, in reality they dont investing enough in his proccesor for make him like big performance, good stability, low power consumption and no overheating. Anyway, i think Samsung can recover in few years somewere like 2025-2026 if they invest enough in all proccesor chapter. Samsung Exynos its an fully potential CPU brand but for this it need hard work.

Hemedans, 22 Aug 2023If you read that problem has nothing to do with Exynos, i Q... moreI dont know about efficiency, but one of Mediateck advantage its that they have big stability and no overheating and Samsung dont have this. I dont think Samsung can handle this CPU becouse they cant handle an octa-core CPU, how its suposed to handle an deca-core CPU. Another 2 cores give more overheating and energy consumption problems, its more hard to handle an deca-core CPU than an octa-core CPU, maybe Qualcom can handle this decent with first CPU and slowly evolve with more efficiency and low overheating, but this its first deca-core CPU make by Samsung who anyway have problems, they try to invest in performance, but they shoud invest in stability especialy. I dont understand wy some you people said

And that is laptop gpu with over 2ghz frequency, Samsung one will have less frequency.

"has anyone noticed battery draining after few days of usage? I leave my phone without WiFi overnight on Power Saving mode with 4G/3G/2G enabled. For the first few nights the phone uses minimal battery capacity (1-2 %), but after few days it uses over 15%. Usually restart helps"

If it has good battery life then battery life degrade untill reboot its likely software issue, some kind of cache or something related cause this and not hardware.

E1380 is efficient soc all popular websites including Gsmarena proved it but you guys live in denial and always find weird excuses just to prove otherwise,

I lived long enough to see good exynos cpu, just few years Ago there was Exynos 7870 which dominate battery life charts, this is J7 2017 with very good battery life even wth today standard

              https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_j7_2017-review-1632p3.php

Kind of core used has more impact on battery life than manufacture process used, what mediatek are good nowadays is choosing good cores, they dodge all inefficient cores in their midrange like A510 and A710 and used efficient cores like A76, A78 and A715/720. If you look at those Mediatek flagship cores like D9000 or D9200 they have bad battery life like Any Exynos flagship you can point.

I’m sorry but I’m having a really hard time imagining that the GPU in Exynos 2400 would be weaker than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 ESPECIALLY since it has RDNA2 CUs. This particular GPU has 12 CUs just like AMD Radeon 680m(not to be confused with 780m since that’s RDNA 3) and combined that with Samsungs latest node and CPU, it may not beat the Snapdragon in CPU tasks but it will DESTROY it in GPU tasks unless Samsung REALLY messed up.

They really need to make a dedicated gaming handheld lol

I'm not saying their chips aren't efficient, but they fall short in comparison to Mediatek/Qualcomm competitors fabbed by TSMC. And it gets worse once you go to the high end SoCs.

-4 low power core called A520.

Most of time you will use those 5 cores, when you encounter heavy script in game or browsing then X4 will handle it, when your phone is in standby when you sleep or when you dont use it then A520 will be used.

Samsung fab is just bad. Look at the A34 and A54. The lesser but TSMC fabbed Mediatek in the A34 is behaving much better than the Exynos in the A54. With the successful S23 series with SD8gen2, it’s funny how Samsung is willing to shoot itself in the foot by going back to Exynos just to save some money.

The last attempt at a Deca-core mobile CPU, the Helio X series from Mediatek, failed horribly because of a lack of optimization from third party devs. Let's hope that the same doesn't happen to Samsung. If they fail now, Exynos will firmly put both its feet in the grave.

There was a time when dual core iphone had better performance than octa core android. By the way, even apple m1 and m2 are only 8 cores and these will be ahead of offerings from others in this low power segment
