Due to the prescence of the latest chipset (D9200). This chipset will support at least five years of support from Q3 2022, since Android 13 build was launched and has initially adopted.

So Xiaomi, did also know what it does to come on the latest chipset's advantage for long-term security and OS updates proposed by Google and chipset manufacturer.

Xiaomi promising 4 years major Android buggy updates and 5 years of delayed security updates. 🤣

Fixed it that should be the title of this article. Jumped 🚢 to another brand.

Expectation: 4 Android OS upgrades, monthly security patches for 5 years.

Reality: 4 MIUI version upgrades (2 Android OS upgrades), quarterly patches for 2 years, followed by patches every 6 months for the next 3 years.

No good track record = no trust.

Xiaomi has long history of delivering only MIUI upgrades (with no different Android version), also giving us buggy and problematic security patches.

            Very scary promises from Xiaomi.
            VERY SCARY
            BE CAREFUL !!!

No wonder, the sales of xiaomi decreased every year for the last 3 years.

I would stay clear from Xiaomi 👐 Their updates are what I call: Fix some introduce some kind of updates

Xiaomi said same about 11t pro but it hasn't been updated since 2022 here in Germany.

They basically did this to try and better Oneplus who the day before advertised their 4+3 year sso Redmi decided to offer 5+4. The software support on the k60 pro has been abysmal. It was on the February security patch until a few weeks ago and then the update in August only brought only brought a security patch with no optimizations whatsoever. Very bad support for a 2023 Redmi flagship. Basically it got a few optimisations in the first couple of months and then was abandoned. Only one camera update and that just brought a few filters rather than optimising the actual image quality. Will be interesting to see if they actually do it or it's only to try and boost sales because of the intense competition with the Oneplus Ace 2 pro. Unfortunately, you hardly see any follow up from most websites on what software support is really like from manufactures over the long term. Very disappointed with the level of support on the K60 pro so far, which was a more expensive phone than the k60 Ultra

We all have different options and that is good.
For most, 3 or 4 years of software support is planty enough.
And for a lot of people who are going into their phone settings few times a day to check for updates, i'm sorry, for you 10 years wouldn't be enough.
We all are different, do your research before buying anything, not just phones and stop compaining so much.
