Well, not all of them. I still see many people with high-class economy still using iPhone X at my place. It's all about mindset, whether you need to change your phone with some small improvements every 1-2 years.

iPhone mini sales were still in millions actually. It was maybe discontinued because it was not selling as per their forecasts
The SE still might come back in 2024 because it's affordable

Sony will probably exit the market if they don't pickup ASUS marketshare. Same problem when LG exited the market but it seemed to go to industry giants instead.

This is not a good news, hopefully they can recover at some point. I don't want to see a market full of Chinese brands. The thing is, zenfones recently don't offer anything new or better than other so that's why it appears less attractive. If they still keep the sd card slot and 3.5 jack, who knows.

People certai... moreNot true at all. Otherwise ppl would all be walking around with mid range Motorola phones and A54s over the A34s from Samsung. There's a niche for smaller phones but it's not big enough to sustain on its own.
Think about this, apple had a brand new phone that was cheaper, had similar specs, AND better battery life then some of the other ones. And the only trade off was that it was smaller. And they cancelled bc no one bought it.
And SEs just don't sell nearly as well as flagship phones, even from a few years ago.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2023Oh yeah because the 14 Plus is selling soooo well at £1000+... more14 Plus is useless Garbage too.
Reminds me of Iphone 5C another useless worthless garbage.
Diversity is in brands which offers something else than exactly same looking device like past 5 years. Yes samsung i speak about you.
S22, S23 etc compact phones. Expensive compact and useless.
If i really wanted a real good compact phone Zenfone 10 would be my insta pick because of pure android experience and all neccesary accesories in box.
If Samsung would make a better phones i could easuily pick samsung but not with that Horrible One UI.
And when comes to real phones with real specs this one would be instant buy for me but its release is planned for spring 2024.

I hope this isn't true we already lost LG we can't lose Asus too! If companies keep pulling from the market soon enough we'll just be left with these trash Chinese branded phones and their millions sub brands :(

Diversify your portfolio of devices and offer something else to the market tbh. The other thing is people with smaller phones update less frequently than those with huge devices.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2023Sony will be next the weird enthusiasm people have when smaller OEMs exit the phone business is deranged. so the idea of LESS choice excites you? would you like an iphone, samsung or an iphone or maybe a samsung? THIS IS NOT SOMETHING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT.
people saying stupid things like "sony will be next" or "another one bites the dust tee hee" need to get a grip.
sony WONT be next. they arent trying to be #1 in the industry. they KNOW they are manufacturing a niche product and are staying in the industry in that capacity to maintain a small presence so that if they decide to expand later they have a foothold in the industry.
seriously tech nerds, stop being stupid.

ashrobb, 28 Aug 2023We can't have good things, isn't it?Yes we can, ie Samsung Galaxy S23. Not much larger, three cameras instead of two, more premium built, and longer software support.

People certainly want compact phones, just that companies always, always try to make it with flagship specs, which just sounds stupid. Small phones sell well in mid-range example Pixel 4a, iPhone SE, Xperia XZ1 Compact etc

Had Zenphone 6 (A600CG) back in 2015.
After my first Android (Samsung i5800 BULLshit), this Asus was by far the worst phone I´ve had. Lets start: Battery life horrible, due to wrong calibration, so % were always incorrect, camera was complete crap, now and than SIM card not recognizable, buggy UI, no updates, shutting doen (probably battery percentage related), charging was not working/stable also... Horrible phone, just not worth it. I am glad for this news, companies that have courage to put that device on market deserves to go out from the business.
Regarding smaller flagships, people, your preferences are obviously not what market is looking for. If market is looking for 1 inch flagships than we would have 1 inch flagships. It is not.
Regarding memory card slot: microSD is slower and less reliable than integrated memory, so it is pointless to have it
