      The mute switch was the best part of the iPhone design.
      Let's hope the replacement thing isn't another "touch bar" (or that if it is they do what they did with that and admit that it was a mistake).

If I can buy a very powe... moreIt depends of a LOT of things, if you would buy a very powerful Fairphone, you would maybe be right, but their is no "very powerful" Fairphone, as their is no "very powerful" phone, iphone included. Smartphone OS's should not need this much Hardware, but what would mean an upgrade for the people of today, if they wouldn't do it? Before the smartphone craze in the slab form (i know you do not know it, but there were a lot of smartphones before the not smart iphone), the devices were offering features, hardware specs being uninteresting and not worthy of talking off, as long as the device would work as intended, and boy were they smartphone feature rich, and companies fought to bring even more features and interesting design into the game. Now an upgrade of a so called "smartphone" is reduced to CPU and RAM, yeah... "very powerfull"... When people would finaly understand why no smartphone should need this much hardware, they will slowly realise how they are foold to buy something that they do not need, and that is not really an upgrade. The OS and the mentality of people and that of companies need to change, not the CPU and the RAM.
                      Going back to 10 years iphone, cause i presume that is what you're talking about... well nope: Apple will make sure of that, that you won't be using the device for longer then 4 years, they will do anything in their power to ensure you, that you need a new device because your hardware is too "old". Reparing an iphone costs as much as buying new phones so their is again apple clearly refuting the right to owe hardware as much as you'll like. So let's go back to those "10" years "very powerful" phone that turns into 4 years (maximum 5 if you can stand the drag and the 2 Hours battery), that turns into 1 to 2 years when you break it, is that cheaper for you, then a 400 euros device? That lasts and works prety much the same, is way cheaper to repair, especially the fairphone, and noticeble performance differences appear only when playing games? How many games do you play on a daily basis?

No company will ever get away with selling phones that could not hold signal for a phone call and tell the customers that they are holding it wrong, and to buy a protection case. Apple not only did that, but they also sold a lot of them slabs. To get customers to ignore that BIG issue and still buy them slabs, it is a magic trick on it's own. Then came away, the best bend-phone ever, that could be bended by kids, then the zumming cameras, actually they pretty much always had hardware issues since, well ever, yet people consider them the best their is. So year, their marketing levels are out of this world, this guys could sell s. with 2000 euros. Every company would give anything to have that kind of customers...
