I've seen alot of people, who still use their iPhone 7 since it released, and will still do the same thing if they bought the latest iPhone. The only people who do such, are tech guys, who buy them to review it or people who have too much money on their hands 🤷♂️. The average person doesn't care about buying the latest and greatest device every single year.

Android users are pretty much doing the same, even tought they have the possibility to buy cheaper hardware, they all want flagship specs for 100 euros, cause if not, it is overpriced. And for what? Well for the same s. you just discribed. In a nutshell, the mass is mo...nic, so why would companies not use that for their advantages and squeeze as much money as possible out of their "customers"? I'd do the same. To teach them all what hardware is and how it works, would be a waste of energy and time, and most won't even get it, so why bother?

There's nothing wrong with refusing to buy a device that does not suit your needs, in fact that's how the free market works, and it's a portion of the reason why Sony still sells phones.
