Fairphone 5 goes official with 5 years warranty, up to 10 years of software support

30 August 2023
The company is promising 8 years of support but thinks that 10 years is possible too. It will deliver at least 5 OS updates to the phone.

Chidoro50, 31 Aug 2023Someone needs to reread the article again. More slowly this timeNo need. I have a very clear view of this smartphones hardware for the price.

Like i said, this phone for this price doesnt even have a usb cable.
What happened to all those people complaining in other articles for missing chargers in the box???

I see many people defending this. Will they actually buy this phone, or is this another Sony/Asus article, where many defend them but very fiew actually buy them???

That disposible does not reach the toesnails of this device, use them for 10 years? Mor like use one for a half and the other, when lucky for a max of 2 years. But how about support? Well from 1 to 0 years.

In fact flagship and midrange phones can be used for 5+ years. The problem is that you have bad taste and can't stand using the same product for more than year.

Never ever state your stupid opinion as fact when you have one of the worst takes in this website.

5yr warranty makes no sense, the phone has mediocre hardware and design already and I'm intended to use that for 5 years? It'll be a dinosaur by then, who even wants (!) to use a phone that long, even flagships turn garbage aber 2-3 years, let alone some mid level phone.

After all, it's still good enough for everyday use. But the lack of headphone jack is a dealbreaker, especially when Fairphone always talk about long-term sustainability. Removing it for the sake of selling wireless earbuds isn't going to make things any better.

Zendroid, 31 Aug 2023You obviously don't see, as you pointed out. Your point you were trying to make is something I don't see, and I can't, as there was none.

You are blaming Fairphone for LG's past mistakes. How does that make any sense?

There are multiple companies out there that don't give any OS updates, or maybe they give 1 or 2, so I obviusly don't and can't see what your issue is with a company that is giving 5 OS updates and has already done that before in the past, even for hardware that wasn't even officially supported for that long by the chipset's manufacturer.

You are just a hater, nothing else.
