03 September 2023
It's priced as a flagship and delivers the great photo, video and audio quality we expect. But it does have flaws that still haven't been fixed.

Their problems are not features or price. It's the availability.

I'm glad this poll has an America option, but it should really be coming to America with bootloader unlocking.

Looking at the specs alone, Sony intentionally focused it to people who still use MicroSD cards (Glad it's still supported albeit in small numbers) and those who consumes media content heavily.

Actually I'm more impressed at the 130hr battery score which could sufficiently last more than a day. An audiophile myself, What turns me off about this Xperia 5 V phone is the thermal throttling so I'd pass this up for a better flagship instead.

Moreover this phone is not for me personally. This is because I'm more towards gaming-focused or that-could-do-anything phone and it's not available in my country. That's that. If it was cheaper by around $600-700, I might consider it.

I love how ppl think lowering price by 15% would suddenly increase sales by 50%.

Then, phones of previous year would always sell more current generation.
            They do not.

No, you have better options for such price.

                A Phone
                B PC
                C Both

21:9 screen is so good... Very close to High End Hollywood Cinamascope Cameras Multiple Variation Size's. Snapdragon 9 XXX Mobile Phones need to reach 2x5.1 Ghz. Speeds with Mercury & Liquid NOS Cooling Systems... Then, your welcome to Japan...

even as a flagship, sony should've fixed the pricing problem. it would make up sales as well 😀😀 or else, everyone would be stuck having the same phone all the time.

Will consider if this was priced lower... 1k is pretty rough when comparing with other SD 8 Gen 2 phones in the market. The 2+0 support is not helping it.

MRSTEK, 03 Sep 2023What did they put inside to make it only 5 grams lighter th... moreDefinitely not a bigger cooling system because the 5V still fast to overheat when other phones using SD8gen2 dont have such bad overheating issue.

This phone is fine, even quite nice in a vacuum like many phones, but we don't live in a vacuum. At $1000 I could never see myself buying this. I think Sony has a big pricing problem.

The 5 IV was overall better.

Even at 700€ this would be a really hard sell, let alone 1000€. Sony needs a reality check…
