Munio, 07 Sep 2023It wouldn't. iPhone sales in China is about 24% of all... moreWould you mind sharing that resource of percentages?
Im very interested in those numbers.
Even if only 24%, it ll be a pretty big hit for Apple.
Iphone sales worldwide are mostly corporate ones, for officials use anyhow...

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2023Scary comment. The sales of Apple and Samsung goes down to ... moreThe only motive for them to be on top is because all western resources were put on them to thrive: availability on all operators, all over the world. With brics, Huawei will have acces to all developing countries, which represent over 60% of global population. Western affiliates, just 18%. I left intentionally 20q who will go towards one or the other group. In this case Huawei will have a lot of market share. Also the banks from those countries will allow using apps in Huawei 's store. Google will loose relevance, also Apple who will be more and more regulated.
Chinese phones are at least as good and more cheaper, outside of the western world.

They are still here and will be, just wait for two or three year.
They deserved to make a come back and we needed.
We have closed ios and open android but both are american so we need more competition harmony os could help, maybe not this year could be two or more.
In the world that all governments are spying with big companies in hidden doors banning a company from rival country that is doing same is funny.

No problems here, US ban Huawei for alleged spying/security reasons, China bans Apple for alleged spying/security reasons too.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2023Yes, Apple and Samsung are spying.Scary comment. The sales of Apple and Samsung goes down to zero......but only in your dream.

In reality Samsung/Apple will be always on Top marketshare for the next 100 years.

All ado about nothing. This is just saber rattling. It’s only for government officials and for official work. And rightfully so. What government would allow BYOD for state official work? It has to be a strictly controlled device.

In the end, this affects nothing for Apple. Business as usual. It’s just a show of statement from Chinese government for internal propaganda, to show patriotism internally. But of course western media saw this as an Apple News and ran with it for the SEO, despite it being inherently a no news.

Nice fake news about Apple and Samsung you wrote btw👍

elmarcello, 07 Sep 2023Wow, that's be a dramatic turn of events. I'm... moreIt's more likely that the servers are on US soil, and if you want ZERO information even about low level security apparatus.

Even without Apple direct involvement the NS ci A could
E.g Geo location (high numbers calls data originate sent )

So 8 Hous per day no iPhone
And that will have a knock on effect, iPhone China sales may be fall, the policy is security plus

The Government is not banning purchasing an iPhone just bringing it to work
It has to be seen in the context of USA China relationship

USA bans Huawei, Huawei fire sales Honor
Huawei loses FOREVER lucrative 5G installations

Xiaomi briefly caught up in the Huawei ban.
Xiaomi and others have a China only policy on some of its flagship ( just a statement zero evidence any linkage)

Nationalism tenuously rather than a BAN of ownership which hurts everybody soft retaliation

Again like Ice Universe on every spewed uttering
Just on this one statement no evidence to back conclusions
Huawei banned from 5G technology, Huawei 4G foldable is the top selling despite being nearly twice similar 5G foldables
They have not bought Samsung even though cheaper, if memory serves Oppo is next

Look I know nothing but if I could not take my phone to work , maybe it's time to get another phone

In the end the USA cannot stop this, they will react, and China will respond, and we will put forward wild or accurate guesses

The flagships are, i can get oppo find x6 pro fot same price of a galaxy s23+ or iphone 14.

I mean ARM is a british tech company, TSMC are Taiwanese (part of the Republic of china?), It would affect apple more than china, cost apple way more to set up and produce factories and devices in america than china, that and india where their factories are.

It's totally opposite of backdoor infested iOS which is closed source.
