DarlingYext, 12 Sep 2023But why? They don't want to pay to use the Nokia name anymore? So will probably phase it out..?

What's the point? They can never compete with xiaomi's price-performance ratio. The naming was never the issue in the first place

They barely stay afloat selling rubbish Nokia (branded) phones, with HMD brand they will be out of the game really soon.

I was really excited to see the renaissance of Nookia but it was a great disappointment. Very mediocre phones with nothing standing out, not even a design style or feature, and most importantly, absolutely no flagships.. The Nokia I love and adore is truly a dead brand.

Lol watch HMD try and release an overpriced underspecced phone a few times, then go bankrupt and permanently leave the phone market. They will be dead on arrival. They cant beat chinese brands on raw hardware value or top brands like Samsung or Apple on features and support. What a joke company

It's likely for product segmentation. I see Nokia selling a lot of cheap phones where I live, they've essentially turned into a "more reputable" reseller of cheap continental chinese phones.

They'll likely use the Nokia brand to sell mid-to-high end phones that they design, and use the HMD brand for the cheap ODM'd phones.

It's something they should have done from the start, to be honest. Dealing in cheap phones is good to help them build volume and market presence. But calling them "Nokia" kinda tarnishes the name.

3-4 letter generic abbreviations don't make for good brand-names.

I think their phones sold under the Nokia brand will remain more popular.

Finally! Let Nokia die in Peace...

How good that in a while they leave the name of the old NOKIA in peace!! and they sign as HMD that no one knows, if they last 2 years it is long before declaring bankruptcy
