The walled system is the worst thing about Apple, plays nice with nothing else and doesn’t follow many standards like Bluetooth file transfer for example. They should be forced to have universally compatible functionality.

Super Android 22, 27 Sep 2023So basically you messed up and because you messed up and do... moreI didn't mess up, it's the very nature of the feature of allowing side loading that will cause mess. It's bound to occur and you can't blame the users for it when the feature itself is a security threat. Also no OS is 100% perfect, I'm not supporting iOS in this, i have used both. Just saying that I can let go certain features to have better security. That's all that matters. For you it can be other things that are important, or you prefer to have lot of customisation and options to choose from, i get it, but half baked attempts don't really look so good when using it. Android is actually better because of custom OS and all of its extra features, but when it's done in really really polished way like iOS. One UI and Oxygen OS are aesthetically better on the Android side, but not sure about side loading. Seems like a compromise to security

LOSLIH, 27 Sep 2023You do realize we live in a world where fDroid, multiple Li... moreI know there are many appstores our there. I've downloaded apps from many of them, but each has a different system of checking for potential threats, and also most apps are present on every app store. So I don't see the need of multiple app stores as long there is one that has all of the apps available and with security measures to prevent cyberattacks. Sometimes keeping things simple works better. Android is about lots of customisation and options, but if it ends up becoming a mess then it's not worth it

On the PC world there is Linux distros to use, Maybe make M$/Apple fund their Development? Also you can install anything you want even if you use their OS.

This point of opening up is more for the smartphone world.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2023I do believe that the iOS ecosystem must remain locked and ... moreSo basically you messed up and because you messed up and dont take responsibility for this you blame the whole ecosystem of android and blame spyware.

Again i must have to remind ignorance that in the last 5 years, APPLE has had the most security flaws and back door attacks, just an FYi. You must of forgotten all the celebs who had their dirty laundry shown on the web like 6 years ago, which were all iphone users. Must of forgotten the 12 series actively leaking data whenever using any web browser on your phone and the security chip STILL having backdoor loop holes, this is apples fault not a user based issue (fyi ive used android since its creation and never been hacked or viruses lol)

Closing an ecosystem is only detrimental to the users and apple has you brainwashed thinking this is ok, they can charge you more, pay the developers less (this is currently going on and has been for yesrs now), it restricts more users to have a better expetience and choice, holds back advancements in the mobile tech industry and costs you more for certain products/repairability because you have to directly deal with that 1 company so please explain how its "good to have a walled off ecosystem"?

I always see EU commissioners as bunch of clowns. But I'm kinda on their side when it comes to stopping Apple doing bunch of their shit lmao.

Not defending Apple but in general, this is why these corporations aren't founded in Europe....because the EU is gonna EU and regulate everything about your company. Your growth will be stifled in Europe.

I do believe that the iOS ecosystem must remain locked and a walled garden. If their services are better or on par with others then no problem with being locked inside the apple ecosystem. Security matters too, letting others in will compromise it

I side loaded some app on my android phone last year, which was a terrible mistake since it had spyware in it and it stole almost all of internal data from my phone. Fortunately it was secondary phone, not the main one. So, not supporting side loading ever again. It's a hacker's easiest way to sneak in your phone
