    If the phone use Android then it's competing with all the Android brands.
    FairPhone is European and it's sold only in Europe.

    Nothing can be compared to Apple as they are totally there own thing with there own operation system with no competition with other brands with the same operation system.

    Everything on iphones are optimized specifically for the IOS so it's impossible to compare them to anything on Android. There chips are made for the specific models only with specific features for that generation of models.

    To have a fair comparison you need basically one motherboard that can replace only the cpu/gpu and then one specific operation system that is made for benchmarks so all you do is just replace the chip to test what is better. As long there is no thing like that then there is no comparing also. Snapdragon, mediatek, unisoc and so on are all chips that support all types of features and the phone brands that use these chips just activate the features they want on there phones while the chip still support other features. Like the chip support all types of cameras and then the brands pick what type of cameras they use on there phone from low end to flagship

      Also there are lots a lots of small countries in Europea that are poor and far behind from other countries cause they were locked in time bobble under soviet union.
      Living cost is also very high in Europe so to say Europeans are rich is flawed

          A lot of you worry of sideloading for security but why would someone will trouble adding spyware to app file to get your data , if they want your data they can just ask apple or govt "nicely" .

          Internet security doesn't exist anymore .

I've downlo... moreI see you do not realize that different app stores mean different users use them and/or upload to them. Playstore has a lot of apps, but i'm using the microg Aurora store. There is also fDroid which is very much FOSS oriented and while yes, some apps are outdated to the point of not runing past 10,11,12, etc. you will find privacy friendly apps easier than on the PlayStore.
                  Plus a lot of tracking means a lot of battery life usage, meaning that companies use your electricity to spy on you.

                    You have good options to sideload like F-droid, Uptodown and APKMirror, these are trusted websites

                    Nobody is forcing to sideload in suspicious websites, I mean if you don't want to sideload at all just don't do it, disable all options for sideload from configuration and that's it, you are using Android like IOS (as iSheeps want).

                    But for people that want to sideload and know what are they doing we have the option, not like IOS, alternatives are always good and welcome, do you remember how was Intel before AMD started rising?

                            EU members are richer than most countries, EU have 448M citizens. Why can't EU develop their own smartphone brands to compete with Apple?

                              Wouldn't the browser side be already kind of sorted? There are other browsers on the App Store, though I guess Apple does keep pushing Safari.

                                what the EU need to do is make a rule, that any brand who make a deal with any carriers in the US cannot sell their product in EU area

                                it will make more competitive market

Because most apps are downloaded as apk's from 3rd party marketplaces. Apple will likely allow 3rd party marketplaces but they will never allow sideloading. I'm not against 3rd party sources, nor sideloading. Just that I have no problem if they refuse to allow 3rd party. Won't make any difference to me

You installed stuff from some shady web... moreOkay just FYI there's no such thing as a good source or a bad source while side loading. Any source can be a threat. You don't know what levels of screening an apk goes thru before you can download it

                                        I actually have side loaded hundreds of apps on Android, it gives lots of extra functions for free but at a cost of risk of attacks. Not saying Android should remove that feature, but just that it's okay if iOS doesn't have it
