What I find interesting is that the original Nokia also made a rugged phone in collaboration with the Germans! https://www.phonearena.com/news/nokia-5g-industrial-smartphones_id151113

So it makes sense for it to be produced at their factory, which in turn is Nokia's old factory. Cool announcement, anyway.

Anton., 03 Oct 2023It's still garbage... HMD should leave this business, ... moreAs a rugged phone it is not garbage, it strikes a very good balance in terms of size and weight while still having MIL-STD-810H and IP69K protections, plus solid battery life and a surprisingly good camera.
It is probably the best rugged device on the market for crossover use (unless you like carrying around a Chinese rugged phone that weighs 400g and has no software updates).
The XR21 is too expensive and hasn't really dropped in price since launch, I would only recommend to most users at 25% off the RRP. The Limited Edition version is of course overpriced, but it is aimed at enthusiasts and only 30 are available for general sale.

The XR21 is a strange phone to launch a limited edition of, but I guess they wanted to stick to an existing model for their first production run to minimise the potential for error or defects, and because the device is being targeted at enterprise customers.
I am actually using the normal XR21 and it is a good device in most respects, and compact for a rugged phone. If only the screen was a little brighter for outdoor use and the haptic motor wasn't so bad.

This looks really good this color it is very nice it makes the phone sci-fi like imo but I wouldn’t pay the extra amount of money for it. I am happy with my green XR21 so far it’s the beat rugged phone available

The 695 supports .ax networks, but not at full Wi-Fi 6 speeds. I think you are mistaking it for a different chipset.

Would you rather:
- spend £599 on a rugged phone with very underwhelming specs for the price
or
- spend less than £599 on a high-end mid-ranger and a rugged case
