ashrobb, 08 Oct 2023I am actually interested this time, waiting to see reviews ... moreMy previous post typos included same sentiments.

Samsung contractor delivered what Google client requests (Google taking Soc in house for Tensor G4 good thing bad thing we will see)

For me I really don't understand why Google
with thus 1+4+4 architecture wanted ALL cortices underclocked

The result is benchmarks above Snapdragon 8 gen 1 and less than Snapdragon 8 gen 2

This is just me thinking outside the box.

A theoretical better design would have been 1+2+3+3 than the present.
                      G4 won't repeat G3 architecture of 1+4+4 imo

The Pixel Fold launched at Z Fold 4 flagship price,
I don't think Google can command the same for the Pixel Fold 2 in 2024 once bitten.

On Pixels not being available in some countries I am intrigued and will monitor

The vast majority are not aware of G3 mediocre SoC performance, despite the phones hype

S23 is cheaper at Google launch and S23 is better even after 6 months. It will always be like that, so they should price lower than S23 at current market, else it's difficult.

Will only switch to the next pixel device once they change over to the tsmc chips ditching the Exynos in 2025. Also it's time to take Indian consumers seriously and price it accordingly considering the huge price gap compared to international market.

I bought the 7 for the extraordinary security the Titan chip has to offer. However, the heat generated under heavy use of the pixel 7 made me realize avoiding exynos is a must. Since the Tensor G3 is still going to be made by Samsung, hard pass.

Nah, i don't pay so much for any phone, but if i did, i'd buy an Asus Rog - 3.5mm jack, best speakers and best battery.

Tensor G3 is about 30% better then Tensor G2 in raw performance. Compared to Qualcomm Tensor G3 is between Snapdragon 8 plus gen 1 and 8 gen 2 performance. Compared to Mediatek it's around same performance as Dimensity 9200. Efficiency is also improved over Tensor G2. And the last most important thing of all is that Tensor G3 is very good and runs a few Celsius degrees cooler that G2 compared side by side.

Also check these Geekbench 6 results and compare them to any device that you want. Have a nice day. 👍

A few years ago, I actually considered switching to a Pixel. But not anymore, Google’s obsession with AI feels more and more dystopian each year.

I don’t want a phone that frankensteins photos of my friends and family into a “photo” that never happened. Or record something personal and have it automatically “enhanced” in Google’s servers and used to train other AI without my consent.

We’re already living in the dark future envisioned decades ago and we refuse to admit it for the sake of novelty and slight convenience…

Not enough to sway me from the S23 Ultra. I was VERY tempted but Samsung has the edge in the Premium phone market. The biggest issue, and this is a mixed bag depending on the user, is the optical fingerprint sensor. I've tried 6 and 7 Pro and it is horribly inaccurate and unresponsive to me. Outside of that simple things like tap to sleep, app drawer folders, and some other small software tweaks without having to get custom launchers I prefer on Samsung. The Samsung bloatware isn't an issue for me one I uninstall or disable the ones I don't like.
