It's a hard no from me.
These iPixels continue to commit a bunch of cardinal sins in my book: oversized, lacking basic hardware features (microSD expansion and headphone jack), and the software in them is absolutely atrocious (stock Android and variations of stock Android are the single worst experience on Android to me).
If I want to deal with stupidly limited hardware, I'll just get a Samsung, at least the software in the phone is great (well, was, until OneUI6).
If I want to deal with just horrible software, I'll get a Sony which at least doesn't miss any basic hardware.
Why would I waste a ridiculous amount of money on an iPixel when all it offers is the worst of both Sony and Samsung?

I had high hopes for pixel 8, but looks like I'll skip and wait for S24.
No new larger main camera sensor, no ultrasonic FP, no external display output, no pro controls, no satellite communication for extreme cases.
Having pixel 7 at home for over 8 months, I have no issues with tensor G2. The phone is fast and smooth, so I have no gripes with Tensor G3.

I liked previous pixels because they brought good build (full glass / metal), good cameras and decent performance for the price. But now they cost the same as a new iphone.
You can argue with 7 years of updates, but honestly I would be surprised to see Google keep up to that promise given their history of axing products.
So yea, pixels made sense as they were cheaper than flagships with worse specs while compensating with software, but now they cost the same, so why would you buy it? G3 is worse than sdg2 or a16 and base pixel 8 still lacks even a telephoto at its price point

Dometalican, 08 Oct 2023As an American, these comments regarding "not availabl... moreIf there are polls about phones that interest you personally but won't be available in your country, then you are totally free to comment your vote especially when it's not among the poll choices. Or are you actually saying that since you don't do that, no one should do that either? lol

Supus, 08 Oct 2023Pixels are overrated, overpriced with mediocre hardware! And all these IA functions can be replaced with any app from the Google store

justasmile, 08 Oct 2023You do know that Tensor G3 is made by Samsung, don't you?I do know that. I see you missed my point. What I meant was, if my region was going to get a Galaxy S24 with Exynos next year, then I would consider a Pixel 8 (with official availability) since there won't be much difference between Exynos and Tensor both manufactured by Samsung (as opposed to Tensor by Samsung vs Snapdragon by TSMC).

You have to wait a couple of months because there will be problems!! I personally am a fan of stock Android but, to pay more 1000 for a pixel I pay for han iPhone
...mainly because it has that chip inside, I will never pay 1000 dollars for an exynos

I won't get a Pixel as Google will never meet my hardware needs. Case makers could fix this and I would believe there would be a market for it but no computer engineer cares to do it.
Oh well.

As an American, these comments regarding "not available in my country" make me laugh. You know how many polls about Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Huawei, and even Realme arrive here and the US would never get any of these devices? Lol.

I voted no
https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/google-tensor-g3-vs-google-tensor-g2
I have been following Google and its on off mainly off relationship with Samsung G3
The reports are on this site, basically even though Samsung is has the expertise, Google is the Client the 'contractor' Samsung has to provide what the client want.
I had high hopes for G3 being 9-core ( so new architecture as well over the Octocore)
It appears that all G3 cortices are underclocked, there is an improvement over G2
Initial G3 results benchmarks are BELOW that of Snapdragon 8 gen 2
2023 flagship and prices for 2022 mid range SoC
The latest report is Google may bring its SoC completely in house.
The concept was great implementation not so,
Imo given the reported difficulties, as evidenced in results that this is 100% Google.
SoC design clearly us not easy G4 if Google own will reflect what Samsung suggested for G3, tit will be 9 core but with a different architecture.

Based on Google's reputation on failing to keep their promises almost all of the time, plus the fact that it uses that Tenynos (a.k.a. Toaster/Heater) chip from Samsung, a big hard PASS from me.
Remember what MKBHD said: "Never ever buy a tech product based on the promise of future software updates".

While promises are great this time around, we also need commitment to see if Google will actually keep these promises. Not like how they sacked unlimited online storage for photos that they promised for certain Pixel phones or how they sacked bunch of other stuff they promised. Time will tell. Funny is, Apple never really said how many updates they'll offer, it's just general consensus now that it's 5+ years because that's what they reliably did through many many years. I don't think Apple even officially states how many years of software updates they offer, we just naturally say it's 5+ because that's what you're getting since iPhone 4 or so. So, VERY long time now.
Would respect if Google said, you know what, all the Pixel 7 buyers get support extended to 5 years of updates and Pixel 8 users get 7. Now that would really show they are true to support commitment and a nice gesture to existing users.

As an exclusively Android user since the ending days of Symbian and BlackBerry OS, I emphatically think Google Pixel phones, to a great degree, are lacking confidence, individuality, and character in design and becoming uglier/more trite by every iteration; their design team are clearly working willy-nilly. On the software front, the phones are also not well-optimized and fine-tuned.
