No, I won't be buying a Pixel. While the camera performance would be better and software updates arrive faster than what my OnePlus 11 offers, I don't feel any need to buy a Pixel.

Pixel 8 is just a bad value. Price increased, yet it gets almost none of the software or hardware enhancements that the Pro gets. In fact it barely got anything other than the standard SoC update.

Nah, even googles version of android doesn't work with ease. My galaxy buds A doesn't seamlessly connect with my 7 Pro. And when it's connected the app doesn't let me change noise cancelling settings. Little things like that ruins the whole experience.

            Hard No! Voted

Ugly design terrible give up monopolistic strategy - something I believe Google promised their customers they'd not do when Android first started getting their services and sold or submitted to manufacturers (aka customers)

Don't believe the hype that this will support Android OS for 7 years! This means, as shown with minimal features in os 14, that Google is beginning to get lazy.

No real excuse vendors are still getting AndroidOS later than Google just for them to have bragging rights.

            Not cool at all.

AnonD-512010, 08 Oct 2023Pixel 8 Pro is available in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Ca... moreNot many people in Belgium here are willing to pay this amount for a Pixel. They rather go with Samsung or Apple. A little percentage goes with Xiaomi

newflesh, 08 Oct 2023Of course no. Ugly design is the main issuePixels have been my favorite series since Xiaomi killed the Mi A and Mi SE series phones, but I have to agree, the visor design since the Pixel 6 is extremely ugly. It makes Apples asymmetric stovetop design look gorgeous by contrast.

Of course no. Ugly design is the main issue

JakeJ, 08 Oct 2023Tried the Google Pixel 6a and it failed big time. We never ... moreInteresting you say that because the Google Pixel 6a is essentially my favorite phone of all time. I have and have had a lot of phones, but I very much prefer it to my iPhone 13 which has often been more than double the price of the Pixel 6a. I liked it so much I have all 3 colors.

I'll wait to see what software is like. Pixel phones have famously buggy software

IpsDisplay, 08 Oct 2023How do you switch to a phone that's basically only ava... moreThis is categorically false. It has already been reported by multiple outlets that Japan is the biggest market for the Pixel series. It is also widely available in Europe via Amazon DE and in several other local European store.google.com and Amazon sites. It is finally available in India as well. Now, yes, it is true that it is not available in many other places, but... this is clearly not "basically only available in America".

Pixel 8 is €800 not the €700 in the chart.

For y'all mentioning availability, I own Pixel 6 Pro imported from an official country and it works just fine.

I have seen many other people with Pixels, since they are also sold by some of the major resalers that have the ability to import it from supported country, since they also retail there.

If the news is bound to be correct, then we're back to square one, as we did with the Galaxy S22 series.

You forgot to mention the regular 8 now has an autofocusing ultrawide and that the Pixel 8 Pro got upgraded to a 48MP ultrawide.

For long terms of use mope only iPhone or Samsung.

It all depends on the battery, if it's the same as last year, I skip it.
