no one gives a I E flying f*ck about some weird, colorful division... except maybe for even weirder country that's stuck in the past tech... just move on?

and ideally not to another crap that just wants to funnel all the data through Google servers... 🙄🤦‍♂️

It is almost as if that decades old c_rtel, called Open Handset Alliance, is still in effect.

RCS is nice, but these things needs to be regulated as all messages contain personal information.

A day when 100% calls will use network and will not be carrier dependent.

In my opinion Apple will never add RCS to their messaging app, because they see this as a threat to their ecosystem. Imessage is Apple's tool to retain its users at least in the US, the same happened with the USB-C port, they were forced to add it by the EU Union and they lucked out as being their biggest innovation on the lphone 15 series. Google shouldn't worry about this subject as Android has over 70% of the world market share, they should keep up the good work they did on A13 (hopefully followed by A14) and on the Pixel line that is also doing well. Google messages has also been getting better, it no longer is inferior to the imessage in my opinion, the key factor in making it better is consolidation, as long as all Android devices use Goggle Messages it will keep on improving.

But for show-off (iMessage) and corporate reasons, it won’t happen. Corporations control that country down to its tech.

But why? Google is already forcing me to enable this junk by nagging me every time I open it. I am now restricted to copy otp alone from notifications without opening this junk of an SMS app.

What are they going to do next, add Google meet to the phone dialer app?
