Most of the Chinese brands seem to be going down this route now. I think the main reason for this is the Internet of things and connectivity of devices. Huawei has been very successful in this aspect in China and now Xiaomi and Vivo seem to be following a similar path. Xiaomi also has big plans for the electric vehicle market and will want this OS to be developed more before launching their cars

So they did change it and decide to lie? So is it a sign for me to leave? Perhaps. So if it's the time to move to one ui or iOS for me? If it is, then thanks miui it was a blast.

rizki1, 17 Oct 2023Like a top performance car, fast acceleration and good hand... moreNice joke. I appreciate that.
Any (_insert smartphone brand_) user could claim its phone has the fastest and smoothest UI. But in the end, the sales number shows most people love One UI.

It should be called HyperUI, the OS is still Android. It's not an entirely new OS (Operating System), but just a an UI (User Interface) layer on top of AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The same applies to Harmony, Funtouch, Color and so on...

DarlingYext, 17 Oct 2023vivo's current FunTouch OS is basically stock Android ... moreWith a little bloatware but yeah basically. Another one would be Honor's MagicOS
I don't understand why people would bother choose stock android over android based. Sure it has no bloatwares, works flawlessly, not heavy and is swifty but imo it looks boring and has little customisation unless you're using 3rd party apps for it.

I look forward to the day when these Asian smartphone makers discover stock Android. More stable, faster, and easier for them to release updates to quickly.
