Same for X100 Pro+.

No 1" Exmor T has been created already. Imx903 for iphone 16 Pro Max costs 2x the price of imx989. With smaller 1/1.4".
Do you think any OEM is gonna burn the money on 1" Exmor T Sony Semicon may ask?
Can easily be 3x price of 989.

Tweaked version of 989 is gonna be sold as Lytia900, still no Dual Layer.

" but this new lens is around 80% brighter, so the overall light-gathering capacity is virtually unchanged."

Light that can reach the sensor. Not light that can be absorbed by the cmos with both pack same types of photodiodes.
            Part will be wasted.

HyperOS might be just a name change, but I'm curious. I'm more than happy with my S23 but these new Xiaomi are looking gorgeous.

Especially the Xiaomi 14 Pro Apple Watch Ultra Edition.

I don't know how they did that much stops in between 1.4-4.0 .

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2023The pro still lack the telephoto... the 5x opticalWell, the best specs are always put in the top-of-the-line model, that being the Ultra. And I meant what more could they improve on the camera hardware on theupcoming 14 Ultra compared to the 13 Ultra

Holy amazing phones, I'm particularly impressed with the vanilla 14. The incredible floating telephoto from last year's 13 Pro on a NON Pro phone?! I always wanted to have a reasonably sized smartphone that doesn't have a castrated camera setup. Most "compact-ish" phones either have a garbo tier telephoto, or don't have one at all. This is a like a dream come true. FINALLY we have a Pro and non-Pro series of Android phones that are very similar in specs. Also I think it's great that the main sensor is the same on both phones, yeah, the vanilla 14 won't have variable aperture but I can live with that. The star of the show is obviously the floating telephoto. Seriously hats off to Xiaomi, this is amazeballs.

Mobtelko, 26 Oct 2023If any Chinese brand designer wants to be taken seriously, ... moreWhat, so that they can instead use a huge circular cutout like Vivo? Or Oppo? Or OnePlus? Or Huawei? Or Honor? Or Realme (GT5 Pro does this)? Or ZTE (Z50S Pro and an unannounced phone do this)? You get the idea. Hell, even the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra already do this. It would be at least better to do what the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro do than do an ugly ass huge circle that has been done to death.
