I'm still using Samsung J7 2016 without any repair. New phone seems only exist for 1-2years.

My last phone was a Xiaomi Mi 9T, which I kept for 3 years. It was a great phone, very capable hardware that could hold on for more years but it only received updates for about 2 years. Since I don't feel like going into custom roms, I decided to change to a phone that gives a long time software support without "breaking the bank". My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G which I'm very happy with and I intend to keep it until the software support for it ends (January 2027). I'll probably buy a new phone on 2026 black friday and hand over my current phone to some family member who doesn't care about software updates, since I believe the phone's hardware on 2027 will still be pretty capable to hold a few more years and pretty much all the apps will still work.

ShubhamDeshmukh, 29 Oct 2023Exactly my situation. I love Samsung software, but they don... moreI do agree that they don't make a compact phone at a lower price range (sorry, didn't notice that part) but I think buying a 1 or 2 year older flagship is better than buying a mid-range device, especially from Samsung. I think, if you really want a compact phone at around 35-48k INR or 450- 550 EUR, next year march is the best time to buy S23, because it is really good with good enough battery life (good for 5-6.5 hrs SOT).

Galaxy S23 Ultra that I have will soon be 1 year in January/February 2024... I bought it with intention to keep it through all the years of software support at least unless Samsung releases some jaw dropping Galaxy S model worthy of upgrading. But I doubt it so I'll stick with it. Everything about it is top notch and well rounded feature wise so I'm not missing anything or being annoyed by anything.

You may wanted best code on your website for polls but trust me I'm not liking this surveys third party wesbite iframe on our news website. It feels so disconnected after any polls submission.

Current phone is less than one year old. Picked up a iPhone 13 mini earlier this year before Apple yanked them off the market. Happy I did. Absolutely my favorite compact smartphone ever made.

ShubhamDeshmukh, 29 Oct 2023Exactly my situation. I love Samsung software, but they don... moreThe S23 might not be as small as S10e was, but it's dimensions fit your requirements, being 146.3 x 70.9 mm. Also, it is not easy to fit a 5000 mAh battery into that form factor. It can be done, but the phone will be thiccccc. And it does have great cameras.

am on a Oneplus 6, only thing that lets me down its the battery. everything i do works just as fine as it did in 2018. can still browse media , websites, yt etc all just fine.
if modern phones will have easily replacable batteries like the fairphone, i will then switch to a phone that will offer that

Every 2-3 years I retire my perfectly functional phone and buy a new phone that is slightly faster, sightly brighter and slightly bigger, to do the same things and run the same apps that I did/ran on my previous phone.

My phone is old, because it have all what I need - small size, led notification, SD card slot, 3.5 mm jack, FM radio, NFC. And it is Sony Xperia X compact. I would like to buy another phone, but it is just imposible.

A52s., 29 Oct 2023I have samsung A52s in perfect shape and I really don'... moreI also have an A52s, I feel like it's starting to show its age but it's still in perfectly good working order. I don't plan to switch phones until the security updates lifespan runs out next year.
Probably will move on to an S2X after this one.

AnonD-512010, 29 Oct 2023You will forever be keeping your S10eIf only Samsung re-launched the S10e with midrange specs
It's seriously got great potential as a small phone. They can price it affordably too since it's old design they just have to refresh the specs. Can give a hard competition to iPhone SE

Asus ZenFone 5z 5 years and counting without any issues. I wish they would still make 6 inch + phones.

Still using my LG V50 from 2018. I have good battery habits and although the display and screen protector sadly have a few cracks in the corner the phone is great in every other aspect. Android 12 was the last OS update but I am pretty satisfied with it. I don't know when I a going to upgrade next but I hope it will last another year or 2.

Still using the Redmi K20 Pro (Mi 9T Pro) as the daily driver with custom ROM installed. Still works as smooth as I bought it. I've changed battery recently so I'm planning to keep it for atleast an year or 2 if it still works great.
