Zendroid, 05 Nov 2023Then why aren't we seeing any real Nokia phones, after... moreBecause nokia is a b2b only company for more then 5 years now, they have no plan, for the moment to return to b2c. hmd is b2c and licensed nokia brand name and patents, they are the only ones allowed to make nokia phones, well till 2027. After that, the probability that nokia branded phones will not be made anymore is quite high, as nokia (the company) got somehow offensive towards it's licensees, well it seems like that from the outside at least, and might never license the brand name anymore and with it killing any b2c nokia device left.

Now that hmd took a stept into europe, i'll like to see what they have planed. Maybe NOKIA will consider to return to b2c market if hmd get it all together

You're just here to state whatever you think is true, without doing proper research about both companies. There is no point for anyone here to talk to you anymore.

The original grand old company is still alive and its now Telecom Manufacturer i.e 4G, 5G, 6G(In works).
To remove the confusion still in people Nokia change their logo the original company has this new logo shown in this gsmarena article and old logo is for their brand licensee but still you people are ignoring it. LOL whats the point then. Brush up your mind

Nokia Corp has licensed the limited use of the Nokia brand to HMD GLobal in certain markets, for use in phone products only.

Nokia Corp is a multi-billion telecoms network manufacturer with the whole Nokia IP and trademark portfolio.

And when western companies were this dumb to give them the solutions to the problems by handing them manufacturing, it was quite clear that there will be no going back. And now everybody, besides apple, suffers because of their own greed, while chinese release brands and products at high speed and cheep, of course, they did not invest in anything except investing in ways to steal and stay away from being sued.

Zendroid, 04 Nov 2023Obviously they do. Go back to the time hmd bought the name ... moreYou go back in time, as i already said, you know 0 about hmd and nokia partnership, who nokia is, who hmd is and their logo. Hmd does not have a nokia logo as they are hmd, and the nokia brand logo for hmd remaind the same. This was done by NOKIA, the company to distinguish itself from the companies that license the Nokia brand for consumer products. Nokia, the company is not in consumers market for more then 10 years now, and they probably will not enter it soon. They are all about b2b. And nope, nokia, the company is not a patent troll, it is one of the few companies that invested billions in r&d, and for sure they will never let aholes just use their innovations for free. I wouldn't ider. So again, go educate yourself before screeming here and trolling while having no idea what you're talking about. And nope, hmd does not owe nokia brand, and they are also no trolls, because you can't afford a hmd made nokia phone, it also does not mean that they need to sell at chinese prices for you to feel better, so get over yourself and listen to what people here say, as their are like 20 that already told you who is who. At least some of them can make that difference even if they also are nothing but trolls.

Krol, 03 Nov 2023You need to educate yourself. hmd does not owe Nokia name, ... moreObviously they do. Go back to the time hmd bought the name and logo, then go to the time when hmd changed the logo.

TheLastOracle, 02 Nov 2023Nokia Wil sue everyone for their 20000 patents(?) And they... moreLol No. Buying Patents and Suing everyone for Billions are there main source of income. Nokia is a full blown legal patent troll now and they don't think HMD is no longer profitable. Patent Suing is more profitable for them than making phones.

This logo is the m9ther nokia logo and not hmd's. Quite loud for someone who know 0 about nokia, hmd their parnership and what they do. So yeah, educate yourself.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2023Don't compare with China. Even no one can't think... moreChina has been the biggest "copy cat" for a very long time (from when China had basically zero tech and made in China was a bad thing) which has given them a free advantage (free start stretch).
Its also a lot harder to sue in China + China is a huge market, that all companies want a share of. Government holds companies back. Figure the rest out by logic.

So not very strange that companies move their production away from China to i.e. India.

Its very rare that someone sues Nokia on tech as they were the leader in GSM era and are the leader in 5G era and are involved in a lot of tech that most people (at least younger people) dont know about (like being early adopters on graphene and also member in the graphene trust).
Nokia evolves over time. Was mobile phones before, but now its telecom and patents on its new (and old) tech of course makes up a part of that (sepearate division actually).
