This is just the cost to supply the materials for the iPhone. The actual margin is probably more like 40% (unless you pay up for the nearly pure profit storage upgrades of course)

I just want to know how much the storage costs at each tier. But I'm guessing they keep that the most secretive because of the markups they achieve with that.

Components form 42% of the final price, but there's also the price of manufacturing, shipping, and marketing to consider, not to mention the substantial R&D costs.
Irrespective of this Apple will include this when adding whatever percentage to the final price.
Even though it is essentially for Apple internal cost these "development" services or internal charges are not deducted from the final price, they are front end

Regardless of the reason for doing so, it can't be a reason not to buy the phone anymore. You have to get used to it, otherwise you'll never get a new phone again. Cloud storage exists, and there's also even 1tb free cloud storage. It is safer (if you lose phone with SD card, you lose data inside; if you lose your phone with cloud storage, you can login on another device to retrieve data, and the data won't corrupt.
Any other excuses? Don't tell me 'they store your data and abuse it' because that's completely false.
For the headphone jack, use dongles made for such. Simple as that.

this is only the components. Should also consider the cost for packaging, logistics, labor/ manufacturing etc.

I won't say that if Apple spend 500USD to make a phone they need to sell it at 550USD or 600USD.
I understand the economics.
But I still think the price can be a little lower. 1000USD is fair enough.

if people buy the devices then they are priced fairly. Apple spends a lot on R&D. Most of their phones will generate more than their price in utility over their lifespan, and they hold their value far better than most pieces of tech. I wouldn't ever buy an iphone but claiming they're a rip-off is naïve at best
