If this new SoC slots between 7+ Gen 2 and 7s Gen 2, does this mean we might see 7+ Gen 3 sometime in the future?

I think the 7 seeies should be 1+3+4 or 1+4+3 or maybe 1+5+2
              The 8 serirs should be 2 ultra + 4 big + 2 small or maybe 2+5+1
Them the 6 series should be the traditional 4+4
              5 series should be 2+6

The chip set complaining in full glory.

I have Fairphone 5 not a single complaint about the chip set I have.

It's all overrated I think. The majority of phone owners don't even know what chipset is in their handset.

Spanky, 17 Nov 2023This is VERY disappointing! What if they released the S8G3 ... moreEven the s888 sg81 is more than enough power, because the CPU does not tax at high or is constant threshold at max speed, even my Sony xz1c with s835 loads pages and multitasking fast without any lags hicup

You people need yo understand they 7+ Gen 2 was a one time thing. The chip is still too expensive for OEMs to use in more midranges when stuff like the 778G, or D1080 get things done.
Plus, both Qualcomm and phone manufacturers would shoot themselves in the foot by canibalizing the sales of their high end chipsets/hardware if they get more stuff with this SoC. The chip is too good for their own interests. Even an otherwise unremarkable phone like the F5 was ascended to god tier status by the mere fact of using this processor. It is a business decision why we haven't seen it in other phones, and we probably never will.

Qualcomm and Mediateks mid range chips are a huge mess name wise and performance wise.
Samsung Exynos are always the worst anyways.

In Qualcomm side anything under 7+ Gen 2 is disappointing to say the least. Thats why many companies turned to Mediatek.

In Mediatek side the 7000 and 8000 series are also disappointing, as we saw this year.
8200 on 13T was basically almost a last years 8100.
And the Dimensity 7050 is basically a rebranded 1080....
And Dimensity 1080 is basically a Dimensity 920+

Good for Oneplus for using the 9000 on their Nord3.

SShock, 17 Nov 2023It's almost difficult to find phones with these Gen X ... moreHmd has like 3 nokia devices, with sd695. In vomparison to chinese brands that is pretty much 0.1 percent, yet hmd uses to much of the cpu?

I care more about the years of Android updates and battery life, than more speed. microSD or two + audiophile headphone jack is important as well.

It's almost difficult to find phones with these Gen X something chipsets that aren't Series 8. SD 7 Gen1 pretty much didn't exist on any device sold in Europe. SD 7 Gen2 hardly had any more presence. It's still ancient 3 digit chipsets all over the place with SD 695 leading them all as it's in so many phones, especially Nokia has like all of them on this chipset. And nothing else.

Ottonis, 17 Nov 2023Indeed, it's quite misleading that a "gen 3"... moreBecause qualcomm made huge mistake with new series.
Should have made all SoC with newer cores only, no more A78/55.
                                        So easy to do this:

                                        4 series: Octa A5xx
                                        6 series : Dual A7xx + hexa A5xx
                                        7 series : Quad A7xx + quad A5xx.

                                        4g1 and 4g2 are nerfed 695.
                                        6g1 is neefed 778.
                                        Pointless chips.
