Who cares? It's not like anyone outside the USA uses iMessage or indeed RCS. That ship sailed long ago. It's like they're trying to create better horses in a world of cars and planes.

As always, Apple tries to look like the good guy here, taking one for the "team". Remember when USB-C was gonna be forced by the end of 2024? Apple here, decided to cash in on this and acted like they made the decision by THEMSELVES when in reality, the EU was gonna have them quit selling iPhones in Europe. Don't remember?

I think it's more important to people under the age of 20 (aka kids and teens) than anyone else. I'm an American with lots of friends who have iPhones and have never been ostracized for it.

People are fickle and default to tribalism looking for any excuse pick on each other. Eliminate one difference and they find another to excuse the behavior. It's a pointless problem to solve, because the only solution is to make all people identical, removing individuality.

I don't know why people make this textyy things a big deal. I've been using whatever default messages app in Android for years. It doesn't matter where it comes from or what color? As long as I receive a message then it's all good.
