03 December 2023
Some phones these days have as much as 24GB, with others you can't get more than 8GB. And what's with virtual RAM, anyway?

why do we fill the entire comment section eh? let's not do that

[deleted post]many people buy apple unfortunately. whatever the trend they make, manufacturers follow suit. like dynamic island, removal of charging bricks, headphone jack and sd slot. apple made everything inconvenient.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2023We definitely need 64GB of RAM like on PC to play Candy Crushplease tell to vivo. they have bunch of rams

But let me tell you this is one of the worst company in the world worse even Nvidia. At least they did some good stuff. Your favourite copany richest one I the wold. Hahaha can even engineer 5g system. Boy and I should leave it like that..

I voted for 6GB RAM. It's still viable in use-case for Android unless otherwise you have PC-mode feature so a base of 8GB is enough. Keyword "enough". This is with the strict thinking relative to use-cases.

In reality more RAM is always better given everything's equal. For example why does cheap phones around 400USD already has 8GB to 12GB RAM while the premium lineup like the iPhone only has 6GB maybe even 8GB max for quadruple the pricepoint? Manufacturers are just gatekeeping features just so their next release will be more than the previous even though, for the pricepoint, they can just easily give more but they wouldn't because of their profit margins.

                        Phone is op11 256/16.

                        Tablet is OnePlus pad 128/8+4

I look for 8-12 gigs usually. As 12 feels like the perfect balance of extra ram to me.
                        But I won't say no to 16.

12GB of RAM is much enough for most flagship phones. Its much better than 8GB of RAM that old ones stuck at LPDDR4X, and then will get over the better SoCs right there

I would say 6GB of RAM or even 8GB ram should be enough considering sooner or later more apps will start using up more memory and even if 4GB is good for light tasks you never know what may happen and why wouldn't you want to have it just incase.
