justasmile, 06 Jan 2024Extremely fast charging is only for those who are extremely... moreYeah just repeat the anon when you ran out of things to say against fast charging. I'm sorry that I want, accept and expect better features from new phones than ones from 6-7+ years ago. It's laughable how only the 2 biggest and the 2 most niche companies use slow charging, wonder why. Why? It doesn't matter for them, that's why. Samsung and Apple aren't losing out on too many people just because they don't include fast charging, they are too comfortable sitting in the past competing with only each other, whereas there wouldn't be a ton more people buying Sony and Google phones even if they charged faster. Simple as that.
Fast charging and especially the charger included because of it, adds value to devices that have it, but doesn't mean that you HAVE TO use them, you can adjust the settings so the fast charger doesn't actually charge fast, or use a different charger entirely, that's up to the user. However fast charging a phone that doesn't support it, is not up to the user, it's simply not possible.
Oh and call me "impatient" all you want, but after having charged my phone, the next time I actually end up using it is at least 7 hours later.

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2024Fast charging is just for impatient kids 🤓It's for people that aren't willing to charge their phones overnight, because that destroys the battery of the phone. I'm one of those people, thanks, bye.

you have to suffer, 05 Jan 2024samsung does this to encourage customers into buying ultra ... morespecs say, ultra model can only compete with half of the iphone portfolio (pro max). however, almost half of iphone buyers prefer 6.1 pro, which is pretty significant. old 6.1 iphone owners generally go for the newer gen with the same size as when upgrading. this leads the question, does samsung want half of the potential buyers (6.1" users) to prefer iphones, not samsung?

When will they ditch 25w charging?
UWB on base model?
Freaking camera update? S22 S23 has identical cameras, now S24 is having same cams all over again?
Good news on bumped battery and LTPO on all models. But still, it's really small update. Even iPhone 15 Pro feels a better upgrade than this.
We'll see.
