for 1500 you can get a gaming pc+meta quest 3 pro and plenty of vr accesories/bundles
this is just a super expensive proof of concept (what concept exactly?)
spend 3500usd on something strapped to your head and has 2 hour battery life and need to spend extra money for prescription??

Imo this is where Apple is aiming at:
How much is the Pro Display XDR? $5000 and it doesn’t include a stand, which is an additional $1000. So $6000 for a 32” monitor.
Or you can just spend $3500 for this that will give you ultra huge display. Oh and it can be its own computer as well.
So in a professional setting, you have the option of spending $6000 for a 32” Pro Display XDR, or almost half of that at $3500 for the Vision Pro. Suddenly the Vision Pro looks like a steal.

With the iPhone 15 series using a USB-C port, do a favour and get AR glasses from Xreal or Rokid instead. It's a much better investment than this kind of thing.

This thing is way too much of a niche product and way too expensive. However, I'm really curious to see where this leads us in the future. We all know that once Apple joins a product category, others follow.
I predict that in around 3 to 4 years we'll have decently priced competitors, but right now this thing seems to be in a league of its own in software, hardware and performance.

I have Meta Quest 3 with huge amount of games, ability to connect to pc for pcvr and it has no wires and it is much cheaper.
Is Apple trying to kill VR(and AR) by releasing overpriced product and then when it will sell bad they just say "VR and AR is dead" and "just buy ipads, iphones, macbooks, watches, earbuds from us"
