Sad to see the name go, but as someone who has a Hmd Nokia, I'm looking for them to provide some new midrange phones. They are pretty established now and I wouldn't have any issues buying on assuming the specs and price are decent. I'm assuming losing the name makes them more cheaper and competitive. They make repairable phones and have a decent Android upgrade program.

I understand nostalgia but nokia sharply starting lost premium market after S60v3 era.
Feature phone's and premium price of iPhone the reason in developing countries nokia was popular. they can't afford iPhone and no choice instead of nokia poor s60v5 series.

Nokia brand ended its work in 2009, the continuation was only a short show.

if people ain't buying phones with the Nokia name then no one alive will buy a phone from "HMD", goofy ahh corporation, "oh wow HMD, I really want a phone from them!" yeah right. HTC worked cus they had good marketing and good phones. what are these goofsters gonna do?

Ericsson and Nokia were both in phone business to market their data enabling infrastructure tech. phone was a tool for them. the smartphone trend became too demanding so, they both made some partnerships. Nokia with Microsoft, Ericsson with sony and google. then, gave up the race and focus on their main businesses.

Also my comments regarding all those facts were taken down under this post, while the ones that seem to be troll comments are there in the comment section.

The Nokia company itself is responsible for how bad they are, when it comes to licensing.

I have beautiful memories with Nokia phones. I guess, it's time to move on.

I will look for non-Chinese Android devices soon.

Goodbye Nokia. I will miss you.

The use of Nokia brand (the name) is now finished in the arena of cheap smartphones, contracted by HMD.

Nokia remains the the best functional and reliable phones of all time unlike iPhones that are simply fashion and status symbols that become obsolete yearly.

Well, their phones were super lame and overpriced.

I have used the Nokia feature phone, and it was pure garbage. There were just 3 presets for sound, just 3 ringtones which were not that great. Couldn't hear them in traffic.

Well at least their phones would lose the chin with nokia logo now. They are still offering phones with a fat chin in 2024.

I really don't expect to see any better phones from hmd, considering the kind of garbage they were releasing all this time

In the first year or two, hmd did release some good phones, but after that, they completely deteriorated quality and the iconic nokia brand name

I wish to see nokia phones back, the real nokia, the one with exciting design and a remarkable build that the world remembers nokia for

Took them far too long to stop staining the name of Nokia. Good riddance.
