Let's start again like in 2017-2018 you made a phone that could compete with Chinese..

Minu, 01 Feb 2024It doesn't have Pixel software in the first place, but... moreYou might want to re-read what I wrote.
I said the version of Android it has - pure stock - is EVEN WORSE than the iPixel software. I didn't say it had the same.

And a company with few resources should perhaps NOT launch a ton of mediocre devices that they have to support. A company with few resources would have done what Nokia told them to do when they created them: focus on a single premium device. Which is what Nokia was going to do before they got cold feet.
HMD decided to do the opposite: launch a bunch of bland phones, with awful software and deliver ZERO ot the hallmarks of the Nokia brand.

And here they are: throwing in the towel (and completely closing shop in a couple of years tops).

"Nokia Corporation is still a global leader in network equipment..."

I guess that's the reason why HMD decided to make phones under their own name. Let the real Nokia do all the communication stuff.

It was natural for Apple and Samsung to make the US market their biggest market with time

pl2rts, 31 Jan 2024Finally it will be with a name that all will look away. Un... moreThey existed in the wrong time.
With a limited number of resources, any brand can barely exist when people look for the cheapest product possible, with the most specs. This wouldn't have been a problem if Microsoft had been merged to HMD with its infinite resources back in 2014.

Take a look at how Lenovo and Samsung under Wingtech, manages to make a huge number of models within a short time. Volume is key, if the company can't spend enough on marketing

It was never an "era" to begin with. We all know HMD nokia was never the true Nokia. Actually Nokia died the day signed a deal with Microsoft.

HMD already had a really hard time getting money from investors in their last rounds of funding, without a recognisable brand sales will completely disappear and the company will fold in no time.
It's already hanging by a thread.
